You should have been watching teenagers play hockey like a normal person...
I’m not anywhere close enough to a big enough hockey person to watch that. I have a tough enough time watching teenagers play basketball when I have to officiate.

Another ACC Coastal team, who destroyed Pitt, is getting their doors blown off by Wisky (whom PSU beat comfortably at home). Unreal.

Another ACC Coastal team, who destroyed Pitt, is getting their doors blown off by Wisky (whom PSU beat comfortably at home). Unreal.
Wisconsin finished 5-4 in a division won by Northwestern, who got beaten by Duke, who finished 3-5 in the Coastal and gave up 54 points in a loss to Pitt and Pitt's ridiculously one-dimensional offense.

This is all stupid, because this is college football in 2018:

BAMA-CLEMSON
(step down)
Oklahoma-ND-Georgia
(step down)
Ohio State-Michigan
(step down)
UCF-Wash-Wazzu-Florida-LSU-UPS
(half-step down)
UK-Texas-WVU
(step down)
Mashup of 40 teams that are neither significantly better nor worse than each other

Proof? Syracuse is ranked 20th and finished 9-3. They barely beat a UNC team that only won two games and lost by 33 to an ND team that nearly lost at home to Pitt. Yet they only lost by four to a Clemson team that later beat Pitt by 32. Oh, and Syracuse lost at Pitt.

I don't think anyone other than Nutter Ned is putting stock into these games. That said, if the results were reversed, you could bet your sweet ass that Slappy and company would be in here puffing out their chest.

Bowl game results outside of the playoff games always have to be taken with a grain of salt, especially now that key players who know they're NFL-bound are taking themselves out of playing in the games.

Teams go into non-playoff bowl games with different frames of mind all the time. I read Batko's piece on Pitt's 2008 Sun Bowl team and in it, some players said that by the time they got to the game, they just wanted to be done with the season because it had been a tough year. After Pitt beat Kentucky in the 2010 BBVA Compass Bowl, I remember interim Phil Bennett praising the players for how hard they practiced and how they played with a chip on their shoulder because many of them were still pissed about the way Pederson handled Wannstedt's dismissal. Two years later, I remember Zeise saying that they were blown out of the same bowl by Ole Miss in part because some of the veteran players on that 2012 team were sick of Birmingham (their third straight trip) and were worn down from all the fallout that came with playing for their third coach in three years (five if you count Bennett and Norvell's interim status for the bowl games).

If my team isn't in a playoff game (and facing facts here, that's mostly a pipe dream for me), the biggest things I hope to see out of a bowl game outside of a win are strong performances by players coming back.

Re bowl games, one conf going 6-4 and the other going 4-6 isn’t telling you much given all the variables. When you start to get into bigger spreads and later bowl games do I think there’s some value in using the records to draw conclusions.

What’s funny about Ned is that he’s trying to transitive property this back to UPS v Pitt which is an even bigger waste of time than his usual imbecilic posts because they, you know, actually played one another this season so UPS beating wisky beating Miami in the pinstripe bowl who beat Pitt in the season finale is some insightful sht.

The big ten west, like the coastal, is cannon fodder and most of those teams are susceptible to being good and awful week to week. No one outside of the Pitt honk characters that the Pitt cliq “pretends” to be on here would dispute anything in this post.

Unfortunately the grind of the tough Coastal schedule appears to have taken its toll on Miami imo

Purdue of the vaunted B10 West, losing by 50 to the 10th best team in the SEC. The same Purdue that beat the B10’s best team by 30.

This is why fewer and fewer people question whether the B10 should have a team in the playoffs. Very tremendous agreement and deal to not have them in the playoff in many peoples opinion.

Got everyone riled up. Who's coming at me for the beating Purdue (who beat OSU, who beat PSU) took today?

I'm expecting big things today from Jonathan "Jack" Allison for West Virginia. Beat another ACC creampuff.

People say these bowl games don't matter but this drubbing probably moves Michigan from automatically being ranked in the top 10 to start next year instead of the top 3.
