#1 Zags escaped UW on a last second Hatchimura shot. They have UT and UNC coming up then their non brutal conference slate.

Bill Walton was on color last night and it was mostly tie dye. He sounded higher than usual even.
The Zags are fortunate that game didn't go to OT because UW had a ton of momentum after coming back from 15+ down in the 2nd half. But that's the fun part of rivalry games -- can throw out the point spreads usually. If the Zags can get thru Texas and Carolina without Tillie, they may only lose 1 game before we get to the Tournament. Who might that 1 be to? Let's just say that a Ferrari beats a Cable Car in San Fran.

Headed to LA on Friday for my 3rd annual college basketball trip. Tripleheader at the Staples Center with the main event being the battle of the undefeateds - Nevada vs Arizona State. Then Saturday, it's Notre Dame at UCLA. I'll see if I can get some of what Walton is smoking.

Did not realize San Fran is any good this year. Only loss by 4 to UB. Interesting

When I was up at the Coast Guard Academy, the basketball coach/PE professor there was Pete Barry. Barry was coach of the Dons in the very early 1980s, and was let go when they cleaned house after the death penalty there. He was an interesting guy. That team was damn good back in the day.

WVU/Pitt today I see.

I get the excitement from Pitt fans, but that basketball program still isn’t on WVU or even PSU’s level. They’ll lose today soundly.

A quick 2-day, 4-game basketball trip in LA. Tripleheader at the Staples Center on Friday night had 2 crap games followed by a decent Nevada comeback over Arizona State. Saturday night was Notre Dame at UCLA with the Bruins yakking a 14-point lead and then storming back from 5 down in the last 2 1/2 minutes capped off by a 3 with :01 left (which I have video of but not sure how to embed it here). Couple of pics in the spoiler.

3rd straight year I’ve been able to take advantage of my December sabbatical to do it. Likely won’t get to do it next year with Prez Cup in December but maybe I can work out something else. Wish I had checked the schedule for today back in October cuz it would have been easy to get to Phoenix for Tennessee-Gonzaga and Nevada-Grand Canyon.

Buffalo reinforcing my trust in them (despite me waving on the +3 1/2 line) by running Cuse out of the building in the final 5 minutes. First time Syracuse has lost consecutive home games to non-con foes since 1975.

Buffalo, Nevada, San Francisco...keep an eye on them.

PSU beats best team in Pittsburgh after Dambrodt loses his sht and gets ejected on a not all that questionable call with 5 seconds left in a tie game giving PSU 6 FT’s.

Dambrot is good at winning twenty games a year against the cupcake schedule he gives himself OOC and coming excruciatingly close to winning big games but never actually doing it. Duquesne fans will think they're on the edge of the next step for the next six years. I know how it goes

State made all 6 and the line was PSU -5.5. Which one of you degenerates was the only person to bet this game and got the back door all free throw cover?

I just came here to post that the line was 5.5. I read a tweet that the over hit as a result too but I didn't feel like confirming that

I had Duquesne. Penn State sucks at free throws but somehow makes all 6. :face:

My team had a player who dunked in his own basket today. If you haven't seen it, just search it on the tweeter. :face:

Meanwhile, I made a stop at the Mecca of Philly basketball, the Palestra, today. It might be the only good thing about Philadelphia sports. Had a decent seat too. Can see it in the spoiler.

That's awesome! That is a venerable, awesome building. I enjoy the "Big 5" rivalry stuff down this way.

If I lived in Philly, I’d spend way too much time in gyms given all the basketball around there.

Legit and fun question:

1. Blair county ballpark (will always be the best, no matter what)

2. Old yankee stadium
3. PNC Park
4. Clemson memorial stadium
5. Palestra

Most underrated and surprisingly fun: Rice Eccles stadium at U. Of Utah.

Coolest is an interesting discussion as opposed to best. I'd have to think on that. I think Wrigley may be up there on both lists. At least the bleachers
