Wow, that sucks for all the people that spent mucho bucks on the UNC Duke tickets. Zion out for the game already with a knee injury.
If you shelled out 4 figures for a regular season college hoops game...don't care that it's Duke-Carolina...you get what you deserve. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

Duke gave everyone the blueprint to beat them tonite -- make them hit shots primarily from the outside (Syracuse's zone worked in the first meeting, see if it works again Saturday) and make Duke guard you on the inside. There aren't going to be too many teams with the combination that Carolina threw at Duke to hit so much in the lane (Gonzaga comes to mind with this one). Zion being out obviously changes things but it's not like those other blue chippers on Duke can't pick up the slack. What they can't do is provide the intimidation factor Zion produces as well as the strength inside to not get beat on the boards.

Yep. Bet Duke loses in the Sweet 16 to some Loyola-Chicago type team.

Boeheim is a dodint, but that stinks for him. He's 100% not at fault by the looks of the story.

I think your fault or not if you hit and kill someone it's got to be just incredibly traumatic. I don't wish that on anyone.

Do you also weigh 130 kg? (If yes, stop playing any sports where you need to jump repeatedly on a hard surface :) . )

I blew through a Nike hightop on the basketball court about 8-10 years ago but for me, it was probably because I had just had my ankles broken on defense and not trying to execute a spin move in the lane.

Hah! I thought they were “back” after starting 2-2 in conference, but they suck again. For shame. Another season where PSU is better in hoops... they’re basically always better in football, but hoops too?? Oh no!

Meanwhile, UNC continues to roll.

Only in March (at least it was March on the East Coast when it happened and that's what counts) can a 5-22 team that hadn't won in this calendar year beat a team that was 13-1 in conference. But then, the Pac-12 isn't much to write home about this year.

Mark Gottfried appears to be the first coach to be directly connected to payments paid to potential players.

How about these results from various small conferences today:

9-20 Western Illinois, a 15-point favorite beats 24-7 South Dakota State in Sioux Falls and Mike Daum, the 8th leading scorer in NCAA history, will not see another Big Dance.
9-22 Binghamton goes ON THE ROAD to 24-7 Stony Brook and sends them packing.
16-17 Northern Iowa will play for a bid tomorrow in the MVC Final.
12-20 Monmouth makes it into the MAAC semis. The MAAC is a conference whose best team is 2 games above .500. Their winner will most certainly be headed to Dayton.
And the Ohio Valley Conference is going to get two teams in and I wouldn't want to play either of them (Murray State with Ja Morant and Belmont).
