I'm glad James Gunn was uncancelled.

I thought there was a comics thread, but I can't find it so this is going here even though it's DC. My daughter is reading all my batman comics and were up to the grant morrison run. I don't have final crisis and I can't remember if I just read a summary or if I should get the graphic novel for her? I don't remember what is needed, just that it was confusing. Any help?

Thoughts on WandaVision?

I thought it started slow but I really liked the latest episode. Kathryn Hahn has been great and helped carry the first few episodes. Won't go much more in depth to avoid any spoilers, but I'm looking forward to the show building on today's episode. I was interested before but ep. 4 got me hooked.

I find it strange but compelling. Haven't watched episode 4 yet, though. I've heard it clarifies things.

4 is by far the best episode so far.

I saw a blurb that said 4 was like a mini marvel movie. Are there other superheroes in these or would that be a spoiler?

I feel like everything could be a spoiler, so I'll use the tags.
Kat Dennings is back as Darcy Lewis (Thor), Randall Park is back as Jimmy Woo (Ant-Man), and an adult Monica Rambeau (Captain Marvel). I think those are the only recurring characters who appeared in Ep 4 but I might be wrong.

I liked that they focused a bit more on the chaos aspect of people suddenly coming back after being blipped (as Spidey far from home took the more humorous take with the marching band). Makes you wonder just how bad situations like people in airplanes/boats that weren't there anymore were, as that's never been addressed AFAIK. I don't know how many mystics would be able to cass rings ala Strange to save whatever small percentage of people they'd be able to in the first place. Definitely sucks.

My wife wanted to start watching all the marvel movies in order again.

Iron Man 1 is still one of the best marvel movies out of all 3 phases.

You should be. It starts slow but man the last few episodes have been great. I also like the week to week aspect of it now because it's full of easter eggs. Fan theories galore.

Latest was the longest at 42 minutes (with credits which are substantial). So far they've been between 30-42 min.

I rewatched The Incredible Hulk for the first time in a long time. It's really not good. I'm glad Marvel figured out how to do Hulk correctly, namely recasting with Mark Ruffalo, adding humor, and making him a supporting character. I know not all of that was by choice/design. The Norton Hulk feels like a comic book movie from a different era and doesn't belong in the MCU.

Yeah it's not good. It's just forgettable in every way.

We are almost up through the end of Phase 1 of the re-watch. We just need to watch the Avengers.

Iron Man 1.. still one of the best marvel movies.
Hulk -- not good
Iron Man 2 -- not great, but passable.
Thor -- Loki makes the movie fun, but otherwise meh.
Captain America: First avenger -- Liked this one alot, more than I remembered.

In any event it seems that Marvel really had a tough time making bad guys worth caring about this first phase (and even afterwards).

I'll just go ahead and link you to my correct and undisputed ranking of the MCU, which has not been updated to include Endgame.

The Incredible Hulk is trash.
I looked back and I commented on your list back then and I still pretty much agree with it. I still think Winter Soldier is in my top spot overall even now. That move is just incredible.

Watched Black Panther last night, I think this movie gets better every time I watch it. No idea how they move forward with this character

The sequel is in production. I don't think any Boseman footage had been shot prior to his passing. But yes, I have no idea how they move forward.

The sister becomes Black Panther? That would make sense in a real kingdom, but can she carry the film and franchise? I don't know.

The only thing Marvel has said is that they won't be re-casting T'Challa. I would expect his sister to take over, but I agree DG, I don't know if she can carry that franchise. Obviously the real life passing of Boseman was incredibly sad. On top of that, the MCU losing Black Panther/T'Challa is a huge blow. He really seemed poised to step up into a very prominent role now that Iron Man and Cap are gone.
