according to sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us Kevin Feige still has plans for Daredevil and Jessica Jones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which MCU Cosmic recently backed up, and who told us the Inhumans were being rebooted in Ms. Marvel, which Anson Mount recently confirmed – Bernthal is 100% returning as the Punisher and will appear in future Marvel Studios productions.

At this point, it’s unclear where he’ll show up next and how he’ll factor into things, but we’re told that one idea is to do a Midnight Sons movie, which would feature Bernthal’s Punisher amongst other Marvel heroes like Ghost Riders Danny Ketch and Johnny Blaze. However, it’s thought that he’ll appear in a smaller capacity ahead of that, perhaps making a cameo in another character’s film in Phase 5.

Again, the specifics on which exact movie/movies he’ll be in are still hazy, but our sources have assured us that whether Marvel and/or Bernthal are ready to publicly admit it or not, the actor’s definitely returning to the MCU to reprise his role as the Punisher. And given that this intel comes to us from the same sources who also told us Hawkeye may be recast for his upcoming Disney Plus series, which incredibly reliable tipster Daniel RPK backed us up on, we have no reason to doubt it.

Please let this be true, as well:

It’s now been roughly a year since Daredevil season 3 premiered, bringing the Netflix show to a premature close, but fans haven’t stopped campaigning for Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear to return to the MCU at some point. Of course, Marvel isn’t allowed to do anything with any of the Defenders for at least a few more years – due to contractual obligations – but recent reports have pointed to Kevin Feige and co. having every intention of resurrecting at least some of them as soon as they can.
If you’ll recall, a few weeks ago we told you that Cox was likely to return as Matt Murdock in future MCU movies, which was seemingly confirmed by MCU Cosmic shortly after. And now, we’ve received another update on the situation, with our sources – the same ones who told us a Nova movie is in active development and that General Ross will return in She-Hulk, both of which have been corroborated by numerous other outlets since – saying that the actor is “as good as confirmed to return” as Daredevil.

Ehh. Black Widow is lame, and the trailer doesn't do much for me.

That's "wait for it to come to tv" level right there.

BW trailer looks fun. Do we know when this happens in the timeline? I was hoping to get some backstory on how she got "red in her ledger." Unless they already explained that and I missed it.

Bummer. It would have been nice for an MCU movie to have a horror twinge.

If a demon gets in Dr. Strange's face and yells, "I'll swallow your soul!" it will automatically be a win of a film.

Neat. And it makes sense considering the end of End Game. That was likely supposed to be GotG3 but with the delays it has to be Thor.

Star Wars getting the focus, but lots of Marvel news as well.

Jon Watts to direct the Fantastic Four’s entry to the MCU.

Peyton Reed to direct a third Ant-Man movie.

Doctor Strange 2 will link with WandaVision and Spider-Man 3.

Disney+ series include Secret Invasion starring SLJ and Ben Mendelsohn and Don Cheadle in a War Machine series.
