Thanos ruled. We finally got a great bad guy in a Marvel movie.
I haven't seen a movie in a packed theater in a while, but it was fun. People cheering and clapping etc.

My favorite thing about Thanos was his attitude. He IS the big bad. He doesn't yap about his badness like Loki, he is not flashy like Doom, He isn't arrogant like Magneto. They play him as almost bored by it. I don't recall which of the underlings said it, but when the one stops the other and says "Let him have his fun..." Have his fun? In that fight? That's awesome! He just slowly walks into the battles like he was going to go check the mailbox.
Even though he is the big-bad, and even without the Gauntlet one of the more powerful beings in 616, he doesn't disrespect those that are weaker. In the trailer they show Cap holding back Thanos' hand (technically two fingers) and even though Thanos would actually barely feel that, he looks at Rogers with a level of awe and respect because here is this tiny being fighting against an unwinable situation but giving it his all. At another point when Thanos says to someone else, "I hope that they remember you. I do." He actually has respect for those that go against him.
"All of that for a single drop of blood." BOOMThanos doesn't think he is doing anything wrong, I don't think he thinks he's a bad guy at all.

It's been a while since I read the books, but I believe that in the books Thanos was in love with Death (the entity, not the concept) and as a gift to her he wanted to cause the death of everything. Things that women make guys do, right? So I actually like the MCU version of his motivation better.

Walton Goggins as a bad guy? Cool.
I loved the first film, but this one...not sure about this trailer.

I actually liked the comic book version for his motivations better, gave some more depth to his story arc rather than he just wants balance. It worked fine for me in the movie, but a lot of that was sort of forced emotionally without much clarification. It's been a while since I read the books, but I believe that in the books Thanos was in love with Death (the entity, not the concept) and as a gift to her he wanted to cause the death of everything. Holy ****. What a movie.

I will never see this movie, but I will say this: Between the way the last two Star Wars movies have gone, thematically, and the way it seems this superhero movie goes, Disney is not afraid to pursue some pretty intense storylines with their flagship IP. And that's a credit to them.

rumor has it that the entire Parr family dies in a horrific way in the next Incredibles sequel...I will never see this movie, but I will say this: Between the way the last two Star Wars movies have gone, thematically, and the way it seems this superhero movie goes, Disney is not afraid to pursue some pretty intense storylines with their flagship IP. you should just watch Guardians 1 and 2, Thor Ragnorak and then this. You'll be good. (maybe Doctor Strange and Black Panther too)Source of the post I will never see this movie

Funny reading reviews of people that have only seen Black Panther being lost watching Infinity War. Probably picked the wrong jumping in point.

I did not realize you didn't like superhero movies. Did you like Nolan's Batman trilogy?
Marvel Thread (Movies, Comics, etc)
Yes, due in very large part to the fact that Batman is not a superhero.

Batman is an exceptionally skillful person. Seems like that meets the definition...a fictional hero having extraordinary or superhuman powers; also : an exceptionally skillful or successful person

Tony Stark is the one that doesn't like to be called a superhero.

I'm not up on all the origin stories of the characters, but as I understand it the Iron Man suit requires something of a physical alteration of his body, or something along those lines.Yes, due in very large part to the fact that Batman is not a superhero.
Tony Stark is the one that doesn't like to be called a superhero.
This is kind of my go-to.
Again, I don't want to dump on stuff people like, so I'll bow out.

Yeah I'm in the boat with tif. Not big on superhero movies and am about 5 or 6 movies behind. I'll probably never see Infinity War which stinks since everyone says it is clearly the best movie in a long time.
