Hey that Kevin Bacon guy looks a lot like Sebastian Shaw from X-Men.

"I can see that working well in Deadpool movies or comic books but do you think it might lower the impact of the overall MCU to have a character that knows that they're in a cinematic universe?"
Spot on. Today's Marvel feels so far away from the End Game Marvel.

I mean, sure, but the She-Hulk comics were blatant 4th-wall breaking before the character of Deadpool ever existed... There were issues (No.5 ) where the character knows she's in a comic and literally "tears" the pages away in order to fast-travel forward in time. If you don't dig that, then cool. It seems the issue is more, "why did they bring this character into the MCU" and not "what did they do to this character." I think the plot of the show absolutely could've been tighter and more satisfying, but as far as the tone and the (lack-of) stakes are concerned, the show was spot-on to the source material.
Deadpool is soon to enter the MCU anyway, so it all becomes moot af, so really, what's the big deal, things were gonna get super meta anyway, might as well do it first with the character who was doing it earlier in the comics. AFAIC, the stakes of the MCU all but disappeared with the introduction of the multi-verse, so, we're well past the point of no return as is.

Correct. And my biggest issue with Marvel post End Game is every single character is a self-aware goofball. Why should I take any of this seriously if the characters don’t? And it’d be different if it was one or two characters like Ant Man and Starlord but it’s quite literally every character at this point. It seems the issue is more, "why did they bring this character into the MCU" and not "what did they do to this character."

Yeah, there's not a real incentive to keep watching, it's lacking that genuine emotional core. Boseman could've been that anchor. I'm still tuning in, but feel like it's really only a matter of time before I jump ship from the machine.

Pretty underwhelmed by new black panther movie. Middle of the road marvel movie. Not a fan of shurri. Fish people were rad. Nothing really happened. What a bummer

That’s about what I expected of it.

Entire family felt same way, I was really excited going into it and it started well but then became more of the same. It was a bit of a mess. Story contradicted itself throughout the entire long run time and by the end, I was like, absolutely nothing happened to advance this story. The scenes for Chadwick hit hard, wish they could have carried that feeling throughout.

So you're telling me that the RT score is nonsense and the reviews calling it the most emotional MCU movie should be ignored? That's becoming a running trend with the MCU.

I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to make this movie after everything. They did a wonderful job with how they dealt with everything. I teared up quite a few times, weirdly the opening crawl hit hardest, but in the end they still had to make a superhero movie. Felt like 90% of the cast was women and they were gnarly though. Namor ruled too.

Boy I was rambling, basically all the characters are cool and I did not like the story

I've basically checked out on the MCU since Endgame. Nothing really interests me on the TV side at all. Outside of spiderman nothing movie was interesting to me.
Phase 4 looks like more of the same.
I basically got the ending I needed with endgame.

Finished S2 of daredevil. pretty good. Get bored of the dark fight scenes but some are great. But **** The Defenders is awesome. Up to ep4 and i love it. Haven't watched any of the other characters shows but don't feel i need to

Black Panther was better than expected. Entertaining, sad, and a bit too long. Enjoyed Namor and his people. Lupita Nyong'o was back, which is always a good thing.

Iffy but I enjoyed the holiday special. A few good laughs and a lot of near yikes but overall I have to say i liked it more than a kick to the head.

I thought the holiday special was better than a lot of the movies. I definitely enjoyed it more than black panther 2.

As indifferent as I've been to Phase 4 MCU, I'm gonna be sad to see this series come to an end.
