Late now, but you could have gone with a Woodford spigot and a SharkBit adapter (threaded to SB). That's what I did myself. The Woodford that I bought actually has both female and male threading (LET THE JOKES RAIN DOWN), so you've got options for an adapter.

Weird. I'd never heard of shark bites until yesterday. My uncle showed me some that he just installed for his bathroom reno.

It’ll change your life once you start using them. I haven’t touched a torch in years now.

Thanks, great stuff. Ecobee was the reddit answer too but I hadn't seen that article.
If you haven't purchased anything yet, and are considering the ecobee4, it's $40 off today on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ecobee4-Alexa-En ... B06W2LQY6L

Is this a good deal? I want an ecobee or a nest.

I would buy that, but I'm out of town for two weeks. I'm betting with the Alexa integration there will be a decent Black Friday special on them and I'll pull the trigger then.

Same price @ Lowes. With $40 off $200 q. Plus if a better BF deal comes along, I can easily return to Lowes.
I am going to snag one tonight when I get home and use a leftover gift card.

Good deal, yes. As for the Lowes Coupon Generator, I have used it for every single Lowes purchase for like the last two years: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

$179 shipped for the ecobee 4, thank u all.

A little late to ask but why is ecobee>>nest in almost every review? Are the reviews biased coming from Amazon?

I'm turned off by the Nest because they seem to have the operational life of a cell phone. Lots of reviews are like "Yeah, this is my third Nest, but they're really great!" k.

Ceiling fan question - I have a large room in our new place ('great room') which we are putting a ceiling fan in. Everywhere I am reading says for these rooms you need a 56"+ ceiling fan. Your options are extremely limited at that size. Could I get away with a 54" in a great room with ~500 sq ft.

The pull cord on my Hitachi leaf blower snapped today. Got the recoil assembly off and started taking it apart. The god damn recoil spring popped off, and after 15 minutes of trying to get the damn thing back in, I managed to snap off the tip with the help of my drill.

Should have saved myself the time and anger by just buying the entire assembly from the get-go.
