I have those foam squares in our basement right now for the area where my daughter's gymnastics bar and trampoline are. I'd cover the entire damn floor with them if my wife asked me to. Nice and comfy to walk on.

My wife wants a workout area so I may do that in one corner. She's been doing a lot of "off the bike" workouts on her Echelon App

I hate that foam stuff, especially for a workout area. Too much give, not enough support. This is what we have:

$11,500 for the kitchen/pantry/bathroom flooring, which includes roughly 25 linear feet of electric heating. That's a bit more than I expected, to be honest.

I assume lumber prices skyrocketing means wood floors are uber expensive too? want to get the last room of my house taken care of with the stimmy money but perhaps I should wait

I haven't looked at hardwood, but LVP prices are steady.

I was hoping to kick off this tile flooring project soon, but the tile is out of stock until mid-April. That blows.

a few weeks ago, one of the smoke alarms started going off which caused all the wired smoke alarms in my house to go off and I had to remove them all

I went to plug one of them back in today and it went off immediately. The hush button didn’t work (nor did it work a few weeks ago) so I’m guessing there’s something wrong with the circuit

Should I call an electrician to help figure it out or should I put them back without plugging them in (but changing the batteries to make sure they’re fresh)?

I guess the benefit of having the hardwire is that they can all get triggered but I don’t want to pay an electrician a **** ton of money when I can just make sure they have fresh batteries

It’s actually triggering the alarm, and not the annoyance beep? Might be worth just buying a new detector to see if that resolves it, since they’re inexpensive (unless it’s a combo unit).

It’s doing the three beeps which I think is the alarm. And this happened with several types of alarms so I think it’s a wiring problem rather than a detector problem

Every time something similar happened to my smoke alarms, replacing them with new was the only way to resolve. They were 20 years old, so probably time anyway.

I had a similar issue where my combo smoke/co2 detector would beep for no reason. First Alert replaced two of them under warranty.

Anybody have any recommendations for a kitchen remodeler in the 412 area, give me a shout out. Going to do a little modification to the layout, but mostly keep the floorplan the same. Get a bigger island and tear down a half wall to expand into the next room a little. Reface cabinets, new flooring (may even rip up carpet in other rooms and do flooring in multiple places), new countertops, new dishwasher.

No idea what this will cost us, but thinking somewhere around $15-20k.

My BIL is a flipper. The place he just sold looked great. Lowes wanted $11k for a kitchen island, he built it for $4k. He works more out in the area between Johnstown and Latrobe. Just mentioned it because these prices are nuts to me and I fear the day I have to start building the addition.

I hit a tip board at a VFD for a Husky tool chest, and like 3k worth of cordless milwaukee stuff. Was a fun weekend getting that all set up. You can track and remotely disable the tools.

We're talking about putting a shed in out behind our house. We don't need a permit for anything 100 sq.ft. and under. Which is what we were planning. It says on our township website, a permit is needed for anything bigger and has to be built 15 ft. off setback line.

I interpreted it as if it's 100 sq. ft. and under, you can have it on the property line, or near property line.

Either way, we planned to back it right up against our neighbors, who has theirs right on the line already.

I was pondering the same thing last year when I got my shed. My interpretation was these rules only apply to permanent shed structures. If it just rests on top of something, it doesn't apply.

My hardwired smoke alarms did not like it when i tried to mix and match brands and styles. I replaced them all with new same manufacturer and model and they worked just fine after that.

Just talk to your neighbor(s). If they're cool with it, go for it. I don't plan on moving any time soon so I wasn't too worried about it. And like your case, there are sheds all over my neighborhood within that 15' requirement.

Yea, I was just going to place it right next to my neighbors back to back since theirs is already on the line. Can't imagine they'd have an issue, but of course will ask first. They're pretty old, so I want to do it prior to anything happening to them so it's grandfathered in, so to speak.

I want to get a fire pit (metal with walls/mesh) for on my concrete patio. Does anyone else have one like this and do they throw ashes and stain the concrete bad? This is the one I have my eye on.
