I just got a quote on a quartz counter install with a 4 inch backsplash and 22 sq feet of counterspace. $3992.

Quartz is expensive, but you won't find a better product for your countertop.

Yeah, that's what I've read too. I was hoping for more around the $2,000 range though.

We have Quartz in our kitchen...it's pretty damn nice.

That's granite money. No maintenance, virtually indestructible, and more/better patterns (IMO).

I started looking into tile for our kitchen area, and honestly am stumped. Since I want electric heat underneath, I think that really limits who I can go with. I may end up getting some quotes at larger tile stores, and possibly even HD or Lowe's, which I likely would not have considered in the past.

There’s a countertop company in the strip in a Pittsburgh called YQ. Good selection of quartz and it’s dirt cheap. The guy that owns the company is a Chinese immigrant and a lot of the people that work for him are his extended family. Not sure if they go out to Somerset or not. It’s worth a try to call I think

I bought a 2 pack of these. One burned out in less than a month. Luckily Amazon replaced it.

Mine were "Cesalit" brand as it appears these are also.

I don't know if I've mentioned them before, but I just renewed my third Cirro Energy contract for my electricity. They are still the only company who was willing to give an existing customer the 'new customer' pricing, and not once did I even have to ask for it - they confirm the rate, I accept, and we go through the script to finalize. They still have the least expensive 12-month contract on papowerswitch.com, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to switch.

Piggybacking on the water tank discussion.

Tank vs Tankless - Give me your pros and cons especially if you have had both.

Some details:
-Building a modular so deciding on which to go with.
-3 people (hope to be 4 by the time it's done or soon after)
-Wife takes long showers so other than right after her shower, hot water now with a tank not really an issue other than waiting for water to get hot when first turned on.
-Washing machine/Dishwasher usually not going when showers happen
-Washing machine and dishwasher sometimes go at same time

Tank vs Tankless - Give me your pros and cons especially if you have had both.

Some details:
-Building a modular so deciding on which to go with.
-3 people (hope to be 4 by the time it's done or soon after)

I've talked to two different plumbing and heating companies and both have advised me against tankless. Mainly sighting more costly repairs, more things to go wrong, and the higher upfront installation costs. One also told me that since they are not very common in my area, it could take a few days to get parts if it ever needed repaired.

A kreg pocket hole jig is something I'd like to get in the near future

And yeah... I wanted to build a new chest to sit at the end of our bed. Wood is crazy right now. Might wait for the fall to see if the prices turn around.

Got a kreg for Christmas but I’m going to use MDF for the shelves in the den. Plan to get an air nail gun and compressor for this.

Garage shelves is where the Kreg will come in handy.

Which one do you have? The R4 (I think it's an R) one looks nice, but it's $80+, usually $100 regular priced... There's one that's like $30 that looks similar.

Lumber ballooned up here in the last month or so. It's at the highest its been, and is slowly coming down believe it or not. Around Christmas 2x4s were almost 7 dollars. They're right around 5.50 now.
If you want to use 1by, busy beaver always has a good selection. I think they have a few locations but not sure how deep into the central part of the state they go.
