i feel like farmhouse sinks are going to be looked back on like wallpaper in 20 years, with people just asking, "why?"
Nah. They are very practical. Great for bathing the kid or the cat...

Ceramic apron finish... no, thanks. I don't think I'd ever consider anything other than stainless.

Soapstone isn't really my style, either. And I 100% expect WK to say that he has bathed in his kitchen sink at least once in the past.

Pull-down faucet or pull-out faucet? We have a pull-out, which feels more natural to me when washing dishes.

we renovated the kitchen this past fall. getting one of those faucets that you tap to turn on was an unexpected amazing choice. they're awesome.

Pull down (the exact one in the link, actually). Coming from standard sinks and faucets for my first 30 years I have a feeling either pull down or out is an upgrade.

Just double checked; I got the 33" one actually. Paid $381. It's currently $899. Holy price gouging/mistake batman

Yeah, I couldn't imagine ever going back to a standard faucet, even if it had an external sprayer.

After much deliberation, I'm going to rule that tips-outs being a good thing is a bad take. Most things that are kept in there are going to be at least a little bit wet and I don't think closing something in a drawer helps with drying them out.

You don't wring out a sponge when you are done with it?

We don't use sponges.

Do you wring every drop of water out of your sponge?

Om, what is this? we all acknowledge sponges are a biohazard, but we simply do not discuss it. don't put a damp sponge in an enclosed space. you have a family, man!

Don't be a dum-dum here, Om. Are you trying to tell me that the sponge is equally dry after you wring it out as it is after wringing it out and leaving it on the counter to dry for hours?

I thought about that ahead of time, and couldn't find a single review (out of 500+) that mentioned any mold issues, and the reviews go back years. I don't know if the polystyrene used in the trays is mildew resistant, but they are easily removed and dishwasher safe. As for airflow, unless your cabinets are air tight, that shouldn't be a major concern. Most competent people also won't put a completely soaked sponge back into the tray, too.

See NTP's post. My in-laws have had these for about two years, and there has never been any issues with them.
