It’s really great to turn my brain off for a while and just work on this kind of stuff. Spending 8 hours reading, writing, answering emails, and problem solving can frazzle ya.

Finally getting a storm door installed Monday for our front door. It's a non-standard size that needs some work to get a standard door to fit so having someone actually install it. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly.

Ceiling collapsed while watching the Avs game. Fortunately it doesn't appear to have caused more damage.

Still waiting for my insurance money to move from the insurance company to my bank.

I wonder if he even moved from the couch during the experience

ceiling collapses
logs on to insurance mobile app and uploads pics
receives confirmation money will be transferred
posts to 5AF
continues watching hockey game

But yeah, good luck dodint. From the sounds of it, doesn't appear to be too bad.

That's actually pretty accurate. I wouldn't say I was dumbfounded but what can you really do? I knew water was collecting up there and a seam was starting to form. I figured that the water would pool and then drain down into the bucket(s) through the evening, it had stopped raining an hour or so prior. I was wrong.

The fact that it fell onto the TV and scraped down the face without damaging it is the real miracle. All the water went to the right, towards the couch, and the drywall went to the TV. We have wood floors, a leather ottoman, and a rug so it was pretty easy to clean up. We just put the couch cushion covers in the laundry.

So far as I can see there is $0 in new damages so there is nothing to report. Just waiting on that check to get from USAA to Dollar Bank.

Pretty sure your post in here about getting a new roof from insurance was the final straw for me pulling the trigger on a new roof. Had insurance look at ours again, and they basically said we'll give you a couple bucks. I told them to pound sand then cancelled them yesterday.

Our bedroom has a similar leak, but not as big as that. Could have been much worse

Reading more into this electric riding mower. It can run on two batteries. It comes with four, and can accept up to six. Cool. Checked and each battery is $500. At least they come with a five-year warranty.

The mulching plug is out of stock everywhere, though.

We have an acre. I haven't measured yet but I reckon we probably have about .75 of an acre of actual lawn when you delete the area occupied by structures and the driveway.

I'm actually back to looking at robots. It turns out one of the residential Husqvarna robots can do a lot our size. That's what the wife wants and I'm starting to lean in that direction. Not thrilled about having to bury a boundary and guide wires but that's a one-time annoyance.

Still no call from bathroom contractor. Got request to travel for work next week (not a demand to cancel my PTO just an ask if I can). Figure the best way to get a call back and told they’re starting Monday is to go buy the plane ticket.

I've already started looking for a handyman to finish our job, Ronnie. I've been completely ghosted by the existing guy. Idiot is going to lose $1000 over 2 days of work. May also lose some power tools.

Source of the post At 1:41 I get a 2nd message saying I went ahead and schedule a meeting at 2:30 since it showed you were open in outlook.
This person is smart enough to check free/busy, but dumb enough to ask you before scheduling. If I need to meet with somebody, I just schedule the meeting without bothering a second time for no reason. This is literally why free/busy exists.

OK. You might get that done with 4 batteries on the EGO. As with any manufacturer claims, if its a performance claim in marketing material you have to assume it was tested in the most perfect of situations.

The robot seems the way to go though in my mind though. We've only got .25 and I really need to head that direction.

we bought a garden statue that came completely destroyed. i tried to return it and they told me to keep it and gave me a refund. ive been pretty successful gluing it back together and now haev a small hole remaining. ive been thinking it might be good to fill it with something that will hold it together from the inside. a similar model is below. the only thing i could think of woudl be concrete but that seems like a big endeavor for a small volume, plus the hole is an elliptical size with about 2 inches between the two foci. any recommedantions?

Maybe like an expandable spray foam?

We need a new roof. The current one is from '97, so it's due. I have no idea why I was thinking a new roof is 20k or more. We had a guy out and quoted us at ~8.5K. I'll take it.

$13k for 23 squares here so sounds about right.

First thing that comes to mind is an epoxy

Are squares the number of packs of roofing? I'll have to count them up when the come to do the work to see how the prices compare.

That's the unit of measurement used by my insurance company and my contractor. Naturally, they had different numbers in mind.
Looking at my insurance work, 1 square covers a surface area of 100sqft feet.
