No screen for us (although there is one in our neighborhood - I can see that network SSID from time to time.) I didn't want water in the door either, because those leak/break a lot (all manufacturers). My two siblings and parents have LG, Samsung, and Whirlpool fridges with water in the door and at one point in 2020-21 all of them were leaking or broken at some point. Just weird.

Our Frigidaire Gallery has water/ice at the door, which gets used constantly. Never had any issues with leaking or breaking, thankfully. Frigidaire has a pretty good reputation.

I do have to replace some of the door seals on our dishwasher every 6+ years or so, because they wear out so quickly from the constant rolling of the bottom rack. Weird design, IMO, but the parts are like $5 and it takes 30 seconds to install.

We have all stainless steel samsung appliances. We didn't pick them, the people who flipped the house did. They all have worked well for the two years we've been here. I was a bit concerned because I know Samsung doesn't have the best reputation for appliances, but so far so good.

Our fridge just has an icemaker though (thats disabled), no water. The water line isn't even hooked up though because the downstairs is finished including the ceiling so I'm assuming there was no way to run the water line up without tearing up the ceiling. I'd like to have a fridge with water dispenser, but it seems more hassle than it's worth to tear up the ceiling to run the water line.

We have a samsung French door fridge with water and ice in the door and I hate it. The crushed ice feature is awful and the ice maker freezes up constantly. About once a month I have to defrost it with a hair dryer. I’m off Samsung altogether after this thing.

We also have all stainless steel Samsung appliances that the person who sold us the house installed. Absolutely no issues 6 years in. And the ice maker/water dispenser is the best. I'll never have a fridge without that.

Have the Sam. French door fridge too. Only issue is no matter the cup size or shape, ice almost always spills out the side. They could have put a cheap plastic guide in there to help, but nope.

Done with the appraisal for finishing the basement. We'll see what the numbers come back with. Looked at the whole house, and while I was cleaning the shower at 2:30 this morning I nearly blacked out from the fumes. Good times, didn't need that lung anyways.

Our GE fridge has the same problem. As of this moment the water line is frozen. It may unfreeze at any time. My only real solution is to make ice when absolutely necessary and turn off the ice maker when not needed.

Crazy how much a fence cost these days. $2,800 for a three hundred linear foot chain link setup. And that's with my old man's Vet discount.

Finally locked in an install for new gutters. Took four different contractors to find one with a lower price, and this guy basically installs the same materials as the other guys (gorilla hooks, size, gauge aluminum, etc.)

I couldn't even imagine what would need to be running to generate a bill like that. Even if you tripled my electric rate, there's no chance I could hit that. I'd have them check the meter, too.
It has to be the meter. I'm working on getting to the bottom of this

Our solar went live June 15, part way through the 2-month billing cycle.

Current electric bill for 5/24/22 - 7/26/22: $261.85

Last year's electric bill for 5/26/21 - 7/27/21: $1,030.98

According to our online usage chart, we are in surplus production for Tier 2 and Tier 3 power (basically daylight afternoon hours of peak consumption).

I think I would be in poverty living in California. That 2021 amount is more than half of what I pay for an entire year.

Yowza. My highest monthly electric bill is usually in August at around $150, and I wouldn't be over $300 for June and July combined. In the winter my electric bill is down around $60.

Had a whole house air purifier installed on Tuesday. Man it has been life changing as a chronic allergy sufferer. I think I have sneezed once in 3 days

What maintenance should be done on garage doors/openers/springs? Because I don't do it.
I now know this. Silicone lube spray (not WD-40) on the rollers and door hinges. Axel grease on the chain and the overhead bar.
