Thank you for the advice gents! I have a Lennox furnace. I'll do some work on it tonight.

The annoying thing is I just had it "serviced" a couple of months ago.

If you sit in front of the furnace with viewing access to app burner tubes (with the door off), turn the furnace on with you there and see if all four tubes light up in succession. The sensor is the easiest and cheapest fix, but in my case, the last tube was not igniting.

I'd previously been looking at a type of stacked stone at Lowes, but had the same concerns regarding cleaning.
Yeah, any rough surface would not be a good idea over the stove. I'd be looking at stone tile.

Something like this:

The light in my ceiling fan burned out. It's a JD E11 100W halogen bulb.

Is there an equivalent bulb I can substitute in to get more light? This one, for being a 100W halogen bulb, is pretty dim.

Had a Kohler pressure balance unit suddenly fail on me today. This will be the third unit I’ve replaced in the past 3+ years. I never even heard of a pressure balance unit until I moved into this house. Good ole Chinese quality.

Thanks. I found a 1200 lumen LED on Amazon. If it doesn't work I'll try this one out. I've never seen a bulb like this before in my life.

Let us know how the LED works out. I still haven’t come across a good LED for main lighting due to how directional they all seem to be. 99% of the bulbs in my house are halogen.

It'll be here today. Though, I was reading the reviews on them and they said that they don't work well with remote controlled devices. So there's that :face:

Why would a remote controlled fan matter in that instance? I don't follow that logic at all.

ME either, I ignored the warning and will see. A few reviews said the same. If they're bad, I'll just return them.

LED is comparable but not better. I still need more light. Meh.

Yeah x2
I'm tempted to go with the 6000k LED (the one I bought is a 3000k) but it may end up looking like an insane asylum in here.

6000K won't give more light (unless lumens are higher) just whiter light.

I think going with a clear bulb is the only real option - it would get you to 1600 lumens.

6000k is going to be more blue; you don't want that. WK posted the link, but I always choose the highest lumen bulb. A clear bulb in a frosted globe is perfect, IMO.

Is the fixture rated for 150 watts? If not, that could be a fire hazard...

Also what else is on that breaker? Is this a fan? Fans draw between .25 to 1 amp based on speed and size. Then that bulb will draw over an amp.
