That’s one of the things I’m reading about now. There are a bunch of deals on Roboroc units, and the one I’m looking at was rated pretty high at rtings.com. May give it a shot for $169.We have one with two dogs. It’s like four years old now. If you buy one, make sure you buy extra brushes and filters. Yeah we have the i675 or 650 I can't remember. It's like a middle tier one. Works well to keep up with the dog hair. We have all LVT flooring minus the office and spare bedroom plus an area rug.. Works well on both surfaces.
It's Alexa compatible so I just tell Alexa to vaccum and it does it's thing. Also controllable with the app can set schedules etc but we never do. I've honestly never changed the brush and maybe the filter once in the year plus we've had it.

This is really only for our downstairs, mainly the hardwood, though the model I just bought (Roborock E4) does well on carpet, too. Seems like all of them are compatible with Alexa now. I think we’ll probably just set a schedule and keep to it, but we’ll see.

CR says those vacuums are okay for light cleaning, but I don't think they'd work all that well for lots of pet hair. Plus, you could buy like three conventional vacuums for the $900 price of the Roomba S9+, which is the highest-rated of the robot vacs. That's a whole lot of money for a vaccum cleaner.Anyone own a Roomba or similar, with pets? My wife wants me to investigate.
@Shyster: Any chance CR has anything on this area?

That's basically what it'll be used for (keeping the wood floors clean). I paid $169 for the E4 after an Amazon discount, so I think it's worth a shot.CR says those vacuums are okay for light cleaning, but I don't think they'd work all that well for lots of pet hair. A rocker switch?

That picture is painful. The screwheads should be oriented horizontally with the floor, not perpendicular to it. Gah.

There shouldn’t be screw heads. Screw-less wall plates.

Horizontal to the floor? Is that a Westmoreland thing? I was always taught to leave them vertical.

SOP for the electricians who wired our house was to not give a ****. Diagonals everywhere.

TIL; people care about screw orientation. Wherever a screw is at when it's tight is good for me.

I just did a Kenmore for a Samsung. Easily took 5 years off my life. Kids learned a lot of new words today. I had to go sit in the car so the family couldn't hear my raging at one point.Yes! Sellers of our new house were using incorrect range hood grease filters. They were all crooked and full of dirt, so I am not surprised that the kitchen painters threw them out when they were finished painting.
What do I put in to cover the two holes AND HOW do I actually insert it?
It looks like the size of each of the two “holes” is 11x4 inches, and the side hole is 6 inches tall.
Thanks!!

They make grease filters that you can cut to fit, but why not just look up the correct filters for your hood and simply order those? They snap right into the frame.
