Wrap in aluminum? That can be tricky, but 10 Gs is bonkers
It’s funny because we just wanted it repainted. Just about every contractor said it would be about the same price to just wrap it. Can’t imagine painting would cost anywhere near that much

I wish I had more than like 24% equity in my home right now, because I could go for a 10-15k HE loan to throw a roof over our back patio.

I should have rolled it into the mortgage.

Lots of nooks and cranies (sp?) in there, but still. That's a "I don't want to do this" price.

You doing it all from scratch or using “pre-made” shelves/cabinets and just framing them in?

All from scratch. I don’t like using MDF for projects because we have young kids and good whack to MDF dents. All the prebuilts are MDF

Anyone here have one of those soft sided above ground pools (like the one below)? If so, do you like it/would you recommend it?

We had one the last couple of summers. It worked fine and the kids liked it.

Unfortunately an animal chewed a huge hole in it so I had to dump it.

That's kind of what I'm worried about. We have a lot of moles and raccoons around here, and they've already chewed my plastic shed to hell. So in hindsight, I should have known that this is probably not a good idea.

I had mine in a box on a shelf 6ft off the ground.

Though, like I said the pool was great, but since it doesn't have hard sides you really do need a flat ground.

I just looked up my township's code - seems as though we'd need a 48" tall fence for any pool deeper than 12", so I should have just started there. There's no fence between my one neighbor and I, and I think I prefer it that way.

What are these "cool" neighbors you speak of?

99% of the time, our neighbors are awesome. It's just when the one to the left of us spends 20 hours pressure washing his fence on a holiday while everyone is having parties... every year.

Including above-ground?

Unfortunately, yes. Only "lap pools" are excluded (dafuq?).

I agree though, I'd just get it. I am an ask for forgiveness not permission kind of guy anyway.

No, which is the only reason why I'm hesitant to do it.

Just put it in the basement.

I would just buy it and plead ignorance if anything ever comes of it.

Yeah you wouldnt be fined, just told to take it down.

I highly doubt many people follow that ordinance.
