Having a hard time picturing what you're trying to do, but why not leave the spigot on and use a ball valve on the hose end? This is what I use in my backyard at the end of my hose/reel:

There are also ball valves that are electronically actuated, so c2i can have the best of both worlds.

Assuming there's power at the shed, though.

I have a similar situation, but I just leave the spigot open most of the time. We turn it off if we are going on vacation or something

For those looking into a cheaper electric rate, there is a discount plan available from most suppliers

Ah. Smarter, not harder. A valve at the box would work just fine. Good looking out.
Yeah, beverage. I think that’s kind of what I had in mind.

wtf, how have I never seen this before? Not that it has bit me, as all of my contracts have been for bigger savings, but right now it says I can lock in at $.0657/kWh, which I'm going to jump on. Can you do this every 12 months? For those looking into a cheaper electric rate, there is a discount plan available from most suppliers

Either way, appreciate it. Just saved me a few bucks.

I just calculated my kWh cost over the last year, at the fixed $19.99/month for supply. My kWh cost was $0.03475... I had an average of 575.25 kW used per month. My summer costs per kWh would be higher, but still, seems like a good rate

That's a stellar rate. Mine was $.054/kWh, which was a great fixed rate compared to others.

We don't hit over 900kWh even in the heavy summer months. Our average for the whole year is 600ish or below it looks like averaging the past 12 months. I expect to see a bit of savings with the newer a/c this year too.

You can tell what days we do laundry based on the usage that's for sure.

I'm sure a lot of it is the fact that during warm months, my AC is on 100% of the time keeping the house at 70. I have a **** of electronics, but that's the big one.

I keep our A/C set at 70 too or around there. Our house isn't huge... around 2000 sqft. There are only two of us though so who knows.I'm sure a lot of it is the fact that during warm months, my AC is on 100% of the time keeping the house at 70. I have a **** of electronics, but that's the big one.

I've thought about getting one of those monitoring systems that you install in your panel, but then realized that I just don't give a **** how much energy I use. I don't waste energy, but I'm not going to go extreme and unplug everything when not in use.

I haven't looked at our per day usage rates in a while, but we got a flyer in the mail saying we use 26% less than an average energy efficient home. So I think we are doing good.

Day one of flooring is in the books. One man crew was able to move all our furniture, rip out all the old flooring and take it to a dump, come back and throw in our formal living room. Said before he left he plans to do the foyer, hall, half bath, laundry room, kitchen and living room tomorrow then do quarter round on Wednesday.
