I put everything together to see what kind of readings we get. Thermometers 1 and 2 and the old thermostat read 70 degrees, ecobee thermostat reads 73, and the ecobee sensor reads 72. So yea, customer service time to have them send a replacement. I can adjust the thermostat down to accurately reflect everything else, but then the sensor is just going to read two degrees warmer than it actually is, defeating the purpose of the sensor.

Or I guess I could just leave things as is and crank the temperature setting to like 75 degrees, which just sounds stupid.

Yeah, if the sensor and thermostat are not the same that's no good.

I sort of don't believe the two pictures are related. This year I daisy chained probably 15 different light sets and it was too much for the fuses in the lights to handle. After I separated the lights into different circuits, no issue. In other words, the lights will trip before the breaker.

Still funny pictures, nonetheless.

I have to annually replace several light fuses because my wife puts too many together. 5 strands of those cheap green wire lights is the sweet spot.

We have like 10 strands daisy chained between the icicle lights and the normal lights, but they are all LED ones so I think you can do up to 20 together. They work without a hitch, same as they did two years ago. Also are pretty expensive.

We used cheaper lights last year cause I wanted to try color lights and they were 3 or 4 at max before they didn't work. They were non-LED lights though.

I have 3 different outdoor LED Sconce lights that are burned out. I presume I have to replace the whole fixture right? Really sucks, these things are around 4 years old and have been slowly burning out one by one now for a few months.

Can anyone here recommend a scratch repair wax/marker/something for hardwood flooring? I've got some larger scratches in my cherry flooring that I'd like to try and mask. This sounds like something that may be up @Willie Kool's alley.

My floors and woodwork are shellacked, so I just touch them up with more shellac. I have used Varathane touch up markers on some furniture, and they're not perfect, but they worked OK.

I looked at them, but none looked near the color of our floors. The manufacturer actually suggests going to a crafts store and purchasing a similarly colored Sharpie, lol. In the end, I found a Mohawk marker in their cherry color that looks very similar to mine, so I'll give it a try.

Just had our annual gutter cleaning. The guy I use offers a 12% discount for booking early in December, which works out perfectly for me. I paid through the site he uses, and it now has a section for a tip. Normally, I wouldn’t tip for something like this, but the guy has been awesome. Fixed part of our gutters for free, sends me photos of the after work, cleans up after himself, is always on time, etc. Figured I’d basically give him that 12% as his tip.

The Mohawk cherry repair marker was much darker than the website makes it appear, but I think it actually worked out in my favor.

Had our final propane refill of the year today - $2.809/g. Up from June's $2.749 price, but not the highest we've ever seen. We went 195 days between refills, and ended up getting 230 gallons today. It was our 4th highest charge ever, and I'm surprised that we needed that much.

At the end of the day, our monthly cost for propane was $152/month, down $10/month from last year. This is for the range, hot water heater, furnace, and gas dryer.

The contractor whom I signed a contract with in October, to fix my ceiling, said he would do the job around Thanksgiving. My wife decorated when he didn't make it on time. He asked if he could come on the 21st. Yay.

Moving a fully decorated Christmas tree will be fun.

Mine keeps losing sections of lights at a time. I bought a new one from Sam's club on clearance already, but it hasn't shipped and has been almost a week now. I'm really hoping it doesn't get here befor Christmas or I think we'll be setting it up

you know...I would wait until he walks in the door on the 21st before you do anything. Contractors if anything are so fickle anymore with dates, I'd give this guy a 10% chance of showing up

I have a very small drip coming from the bottom of my garbage disposal. Not sure how old the unit is. At least 3 years as it was here when we bought the house. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was 10+ years old.

I’m reading the likely cause is an internal seal is busted and rather than fixing it, it might be better just to replace the unit. Thoughts?

I would replace it even over a repair/seal kit. Newer units are more efficient and WAY quieter.
