I think Kenny is asking why they were in revolt; what did the staff do that prompted it. Because if getting their asses handed to them on national TV is only the coaches fault that is a max loser mentality.

I ran into a guy today whose daughter is an athletic trainer at Pitt. She told her dad that the players were basically in open revolt in the 4th quarter.
I've heard similar rumblings (re: Narduzzi vs. the players) from a friend who does video for the team. This has been the case the past 2-3 years.

Basically that Narduzzi is two-faced, blames them, doesn't take responsability with the team, but says the right things to the media.

Also that he makes promises to players and doesn't follow through.

I mean I think that’s pretty obvious when he sits in front of the media on Monday and does nothing but blame Pickett that the dudes a ****** who is beholden to his “system” and when his “system” doesn’t work it’s the players fault, not that he’s a stubborn ass who is unwilling to change his philosophy and is always in danger of getting an unsportsmanlike penalty.

As far as personnel, maybe the players are also sick of Briggs being on the field.

Peak posted on PL the PFF grades for the defensive players. Out of 28 graded players on the defense, Hamlin is 25th, Garner 26th, and Briggs 28th. Phil Campbell is playing fewer snaps than all those dudes and is the 5th rated defensive player.

No one in this thread needed PFF to tell them this but its nice to know that we are not ranting lunatics (on this specific point).

Motley has not had a pass thrown to his guy this year. They've thrown at Dane Jackson's man 3 times with one completion iirc. To be honest, I don't think the defense is too shabby. The offense isn't suited to come from behind and I think if Pitt can get some early leads this season they'll put teams away. If they get behind it may get ugly.. unless the line and the WRs can get their **** together. I have faith Kenny isn't as bad as he looked Saturday

In short, there's a lot of overreacting to the perfect storm Saturday. Anything that could have went wrong did, and then some. They might not be great, but I'm confident this isn't a bad team

CROOTIN' NEWS

Florida DB Tiawan Mullen is announcing his commitment today at 2pm. He's got a 4-star rating from Rivals and had 11 P5 offers. He's deciding between Pitt, Nebraska and Indiana.

Good for Pitt: Part of the group that visited that same mid-June weekend that produced PatSignalPalooza. Nearly committed that weekend but held off because he wanted to take his other visits. He's also apparently close with current Pitt RB commit Vincent Davis.

Bad: He visited IU this past weekend. He visited Nebraska in Week One but their game with Akron was cancelled. Said he enjoyed the NU visit and Scott Frost has been recruiting him for quite a while.

For whatever stupid reason, this is one of the remaining targets that I really like to see them land. I think it's down to Pitt & Nebraska and I won't be surprised if it's Nebraska because everything else has just gone so well for Pitt lately so why not this.

They have some other irons in the fire at DB (Devonshire, Briton Allen, Keshun Brown and Jalen Graham), but Mullen would be a nice pickup at a time that Narduzzi could really use one.

Also, I'm hoping they really ramp up the recruiting effort when it comes to the offensive line and wide receiver spots.

And Saquon, who basically everyone likes, took a shot:

Asked about #NYGvsDAL rivalry, @Saquon pointed out that rivalries are kinda new to him given that Penn State really didn't have a true rival. "Pitt tried," he said, "but I think we saw last week how that (went)."

I normally make fun and laugh at you guys, but that’s way too easy right now and I honestly kind of feel bad. Not your week.

I don’t remember. Was Saquon on the team when they lost to Pitt and it ruined their national championship potential?
