Too bad the rest of your roster sucks. Fired up for another blow out loss to PSU this coming season?

I think 9 is a good number for Weaver, especially because I think he'll have legitimate help next season. Patrick Jones will ll likely be the starter at the other DE spot and looks like he could be a pretty good player; he finished third on the team in sacks (4) and tackles for loss (7.5), and that was splitting time with Hendrix. If Jones can keep some of the stupid penalties to a minimum (late hits to QB), that should help balance things out.

In addition, I like what they return in the middle with Camp, Watts and Twyman. I'll throw Danielson in there as well, as I thought he looked decent in the limited time he got, given that he was a true freshman.

Not much surprising on Pitt’s spring roster. V’Lique Carter is listed only as a running back now, and redshirt junior DT Rashad Wheeler has hopped over to the OL wearing 54. Phil Campbell now being officially labeled a linebacker, too. Jim Medure bringing that fullback juice.

Carter's move to RB isn't entirely surprising, given the depth at CB, Carter's contributions on offense last year and the relative lack of depth at RB for the spring, with Salahuddin recovering from surgery and Daniel Carter & Vincent Davis not getting to practice until camp in August.

I was a little surprised by Wheeler moving to OL. Peak had recently mentioned Wheeler as a candidate for that fourth interior DL spot on the two-deep along with Camp, Watts, and Twyman. I'm hoping this says some good things about Danielson and Bentley, especially as Bentley's made some noise in the pre-spring camp workouts. The flip side of this is that I'm also not sure what it says about the OL depth.

Not surprised with Campbell. I'm looking forward to seeing what he may do in that LB position.

Carter will get wrecked as a full time RB and was completely shut down after teams knew he existed. Wheeler getting the Herndon treatment. I would guess that has more to do with the lack of depth on the OL and the massive recruiting numbers on the DL than Wheeler's actual skill set.

I'm sure the coaching staff is working hard to get Idowu a 5th, 6th, and 7th year of eligibility, so I wouldn't get too hyped over anyone else at the LB position just yet.

Yeah, that Wheeler thing is odd and says a lot more about Pickett running for his life.

Some additional notes from Peak:

1. Chase Pine is listed as a DL on the online roster, but is listed at LB on the camp roster and got reps this morning behind Brightwell. I expect Pine to be moved to SS, FS, CB, DT, OL, TE, RB, FB, WR, kicker and punter before his Pitt career comes to an end.

2. Star LB was Cam Bright with Phil Campbell backing him up.

3. Carson Van Lynn, a TE last year, changed his number to 59 and is now listed as an offensive lineman. Pretty much expected.

4. O-Line rotation appeared to be this:

Houy-Ford-Morrissey-Hargrove-Drake
Warren-Kradel-Drexel-Brown-Van Lynn
Dick-unnamed LG-Rainey-Wheeler-Zubovic

For the most part, I know this all means relatively little. It's just the start of spring ball, some players are hurt or limited, and most the 2019 recruiting class isn't here. These lineups can and will change 100 times before the season opener in about six months.

As excited as I get for football season and as optimistic as I try to be, everything I post until they actually start playing is with the understanding that:
1) the media folks posting reports get to see almost nothing of the actual practices because Narduzzi is such a stupid control freak over access, and
2) after last season's bull$hit-fest with the way they talked up Pickett and alluded to a number of other camp darlings that never really materialized into much, I'm taking anything the coaches say about any player on the roster with a grain of salt roughly the size of the Cathedral of Learning.

- As you said its only the start of spring ball, but moving Wheeler, who was productive on the DL, to OL and having him start out on the third string is weird.

- Any word on who was backing up Reynolds at Mike LB? ILB seemed like such a natural fit for Pine that it sucks it hasn't worked.

In a superseding indictment filed this afternoon, federal prosecutors allege Christian Dawkins paid bribes to unnamed assistant coaches at schools located in Nebraska and Texas. Sources say the two schools are Creighton and TCU.

We're not last!

What's up with ND this year? I haven't really been following things, but hard for me to believe they are the worst team in the ACC.
