I am thankful for Jamie and also thankful he is gone
This is a much better take than the marsupial's.
Hey, are you enjoying the show “dodint boy” Cam Johnson is putting on so far tonight for the ‘Heels?

Or maybe you can tune in to the Miracle Mountaineers beating Kansas?

Oh, and Penn State had a better season than Pitt... in hoops, even, for a 3rd straight season!!

All of these things must really, really hurt.

OL - Mike Herndon: 6'4", 310 lbs.; 40 Yard: 5.15; Bench: 22; 3-Cone: 7.78; Vertical: 23.5; Broad Jump: 8'2"
OL - Alex Bookser: 6'6", 315 lbs.; Bench: 29

LB - Sean Idowu: 6'0", 230 lbs.; 40 Yard: 4.60; Bench: 25; 3-Cone: 7.20; Vertical: 32.5; Broad Jump: 9'11"
LB - Elijah Zeise: 6'2", 240 lbs.; 40 Yard: 4.73; Bench: 17; 3-Cone: 6.78; Vertical: 32; Broad Jump: 9'11"
LB - Quentin Wirginis: 6'2", 240 lbs.; Bench: 25

DB - Colin Jonov: 5'9", 195 lbs.; 40 Yard: 4.50; Bench: 12; 3-Cone: 6.96; Vertical: 33.5; Broad Jump: 9'11"

RB - Darrin Hall: 5'11", 217 lbs.; 40 Yard: 4.42; Bench: 27; 3-Cone: 6.72; Vertical: 32; Broad Jump: 10'2"
RB - Qadree Ollison: 6'2", 225 lbs.; 40 Yard: 4.58 (C); Bench: 19 (C); 3-Cone: 7.02; Vertical: 29.5 (C); Broad Jump: 9'6"

I always like taking a look at Combine/Pro Day numbers because it's typically the only numbers were get on these guys who we regret watching for the past 4 or 5 years.

RAL - small, but his 40 time, vertical, and broad jump are fine; 3-cone time would have been third for WRs at the combine; I expect to see him get a camp invite as a UDFA

Aston - Dude is a monster. No FBs were invited to the combine but he has plenty of film to back up what he does. His bench would have been near the top for RBs and tops for TEs. He'll get a UDFA deal somewhere and probably carve out a FB/ST NFL career.

Defensive lineman - these guys all suck. Folston and Hendrix put up solid 40 times and Folston's numbers would be top five for DEs at the combine. Unfortunately we all know he's a bad football player. Roy is slow and weak and had no business playing in front of who he did last season.

OL - Herndon is a good dude who went through a lot here and stuck it out. Numbers aren't great but I could see him getting run as a camp body. Bookser is recovering from surgery and could do much yesterday, but I expect him to get an UDFA deal.

LB- Idowu is small, his 40 time is good for the position and his bench numbers are impressive, but his 3 cone, vertical, and broad jump are mud city. He could be a camp body but will only have an NFL career if Narduzzi decides to become an NFL head coach. Surprised to see Zeise weigh in at 240. He's slow and weak but his 3 cone would have been the best result for LBs at the combine. Again, could be a camp body. Wirginis is still recovering from surgery. I would expect him to get a UDFA deal.

Jonov - who the hell is this guy?

RB - The main event. Ollison is big and some of his numbers are from the combine, where his 40 time was 13th, his bench results were bad, his vertical was near the bottom, and his broad jump was the bottom. His three cone result yesterday would have been top five at the combine. I don't think he'll get drafted but will get a UDFA deal. I could see him sticking around the NFL as a third string back/special teams contributor, but I don't know if he runs with enough power to be the type of back his size/speed profile dictates he should be.

Hall had a great day yesterday and should have been invited to the combine. His 40 time would have been 2nd at the combine, his bench press tied for 2nd, his 3 cone would have been 1st (supplanting some scrub named Miles Sanders), his vertical would have been near the bottom, and his broad jump would have played his 8th. He's going to get drafted and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he had a solid NFL career.

The only guy on offense that was doing something that remotely resembled a good job during the ACC championship game was Mike Herndon. He was actually able to block his guy. Therefore, I think he is very underrated.

I hope Ford puts it all together this year. If he realizes his potential and pairs with Hamlin at safety, that could be a really solid defensive backfield.

Some stuff from Narduzzi today on the LB corps, courtesy of Jim Hammett at PantherLair:

- He's been impressed by Elias Reynolds at the Mike LB. Wendell Davis appears to be backing him up.
- Star LB looks so far like Phil Campbell backed up by Cam Bright. Narduzzi really talked up Campbell - "fast, physical...gets off blocks as well as any LB I've seen. Quick with his hands. He's a nickelback that's tough enough to be a linebacker."
- Said Chase Pine is leading the Boundary LB depth chart right now, followed by Saleem Brightwell and Kyle Nunn.

Narduzzi pretty much said no matter what, there will be a pretty significant rotation at the LB position.

Again, I'm taking the coaches' comments with a grain of salt but I like that we're finally at the point where the LB depth chart is completely filled by scholarship recruits. On top of that, the only player there with less than 2 years of eligibility left is Brightwell.

I'm trying to temper expectations but I'm also loving the idea of Pine and/or Reynolds blitzing with Weaver and Jones already coming off the ends and some combo of Watts, Camp, and Twyman occupying the middle.

i find it very hard to believe that a converted DB playing linebacker for the very first time gets off blocks "as well as any LB I've seen"

I find Brightwell to be highly disappointing. Kid saw significant playing time as a freshman and had a huge play against Clemson and since then what? Couldn't beat out Elijah Zeise and now he can't beat out Chase Pine. Just seems like he's improved little since his first year.

Aston will have a longer career than Rhino.

RAJ will have a long career in the League.

Ollison will not.

the good thing is our coaches would never unnecessarily hype someone up in the offseason
