I don't like firing mid season. But there's 0 halftime adjustments being made. Just no in game coaching. If that doesn't improve by year end then I'm over it

We’re in year 4. Why would those things suddenly start happening?

Pickett has been worse than DiNucci.

Imo Pickett is good and for his 4th career start played well. Shaun Watson is atrocious. I'm not watching the all-22 film so maybe I'm totally wrong but why is this offense under the impression that 80%of routes must be horizontal and not beyond 5-10 yards? I think you or DD mentioned this last week but enough with the rollouts. I get that he likes to run and is mobile and that he sometimes he takes off way too early on a traditional drop back, but you can't get any kind of intermediate or deep passing game going like this. The final drive everyone knew they were throwing, the pass rush was coming, but they had him take a five step drop and they started throwing deep. Where was that the rest of the game? He was like 17/25 for 116 yards at one point. What are we doing?

It was hard to tell on TV today but I was at the GT and Albany games and most of what Watson designed seemed directed towards the sidelines. He threw very little over the middle of the field. That’s perfectly fine until you realize that he’s asking Araujo-Lopes & Ffrench - two guys whose skillsets absolutely scream “UNDERNEATH” - to routinely beat safeties and corners on long outs and fades.

What is incredibly frustrating about this is that when they’ve gone to the middle of the field, it seems like it’s been there. I may have mentioned this last week but against GT in the the second half, they moved Matthews to the slot and lo and behold, he got open! I only saw it three times in the second half and it all converted to just one catch, but it was a well-run route and he worked right across the middle to provide a big target to Pickett. Last weekend, they ran a long seam route with RAL, the same one that PSU used and that UNC scored on twice today. RAL had a step on the safety, and if Pickett had put just a little more on it, he would have hit RAL for 40-50 yards in stride and possibly a TD.

You see his comments after the game? Worse than the game itself. Dude is a joke and that new contract he got at the end of last season is going to end up being the biggest, most expensive mistake of Lyke’s career.
