He wasn't on the 51-6 team so Barkley should shut his mouth.

I like Barkley, but he went 1-1 against Pitt when he was on the field. Take your win and shut the f*ck up.

hot take right here.

anyways, thoughts on this Georgia tech game? this is extremely effing important. the super panthers are somehow 4 point home dogs (according to espn) against a team that was boatraced by big east castoff west central south florida. not a good sign.

the front four received a fair amount of hype in the preseason. this might be a good game for them to show up.

I pseudo bashed wriginis a few pages ago for being a chryst recruit that should have been recruited over. but he was one of about 4 dudes that actually showed up to play last week, so I predict that once again, he will be the grown up in the room surrounded by dopes

btw the single most impressive individual performance I've ever witnessed was aaron Donald vs the rambling reck in 2013:

https://pittsburghpanthers.com/boxscore ... h=football

Donald's line: 11 solo tackles, 1 sack, 6 TFL, 2 forced fumbles

Game result: GT 21 Pitt 10

pitt can't have nice things

I don't know I still think the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life were the five straight fumbles against Georgia Tech.

that was the most frustrating thing ever. we've had a lot of frustrating moments as well... conner fumbling at the one on a 60+ yard run, ugh.

I feel like this is one of those games where Pitt loses in the most frustrating ways possible.... kind of like the last few posts mention.

It's just how Pitt rolls.

GT lost their star RB for the season and the starting QB is injured. If they lose this game I can't even begin to imagine the ranting I'll be forced to do.

As if there wasn't enough reason to root against Pitt, I add another one. DD rants are the best rants. Nobody rants like DD. Believe me.

That was in what, the first nine minutes of that game? That was a bizarre sequence of events.

Yes. That was the weirdest beginning to a game ever. We were down like 28-0 in the first 5 minutes.

Was also down in GT when Donald blew them up and we still lost.

I'm prepared for the worst after last weekend, because I have no idea how this team will come out and play. I don't think the loss to UPS broke them because they've always seemed dialed in on the ACC goal. But I'm admittedly interested in the rumors about the players being unhappy with the coaches and the 4th quarter play reflecting. it.

The weather is supposed to be decent tomorrow, so that should help Pitt re-establish a passing game, provided the offensive line at least gets in the way of the pass rush for more than 2-3 seconds.

Shawn Watson needs to show something creative tomorrow. Wildcat packages and jet sweeps aren't creative. We heard stuff in camp about trick plays, getting guys like Shocky and Ford involved in the offense, yadda yadda yadda. We had better start seeing that sort of stuff tomorrow. If the wideouts are having problems getting separation, run crossing routes over the middle. Get Will Gragg involved. Get AJ Davis involved.

I think Pitt's defense is more equipped this year to handle GT's offense. If Roy, Camp, Watts and Twyman can clog the middle and Wirginis can keep from over-pursuing, that will be a big help. The OLBs need to stay home. I think the corners should be OK in run support. It's a skipping record, but Hamlin and Briggs have to be better if they're out there. Better angles, better tackling, everything.

This is a game where Ford absolutely needs to play on defense. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some work at one of the safety spots but I also wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play at all because I'm not sure Narduzzi knows what he's doing anymore.

This is a huge game. I'm supposed to go and I'll be really interested to see how the crowd is and how fired up the team appears to be.

My son and his friends (all PSU alums) bought the Pitt season tickets and had zero luck selling theirs for the game today.

Not many real interesting noon games today so I may tune into this one for a bit during breaks in our game.

Yup. I've posted on this before but it exemplifies why CFB is superior. So much more variety and intrigue with different styles and conferences clashing
