Had fun down in Charlotte. Went to the Pitt alumni party at the baseball park. They did a great job with that IMO.

Security getting in the stadium was pretty shitty, and so was the weather. I know we got killed, but I love the atmosphere and events at these types of things (bowl games, championship games) and road trips are always fun.

Would definitely make the trip again if Pitt ever goes.

I'll say this, there are plenty of opportunities for righteous indignation if you are a pitt fan

If any pitt fans were looking for some context on just how bad pickett was, consider this:

In what was probably the most dominant defensive performance of the lgp.com/5af era of college football, karl joseph recorded 3 interceptions against the Georgia southern eagles on 9/5/2015. In that game, "Favian Upshaw" was 2-13 with 0 TDs, 3 INTS, and 29 yards passing. His QBR rating was 9.8.

On Saturday, pickett was 4/16 with 0 tds, an interception, 2 fumbles, and 8 yards passing. his QBR was 4.8.

Kenneth calling him "pickett" instead of Kenneth Shane Pickett is not a good sign imo.

Have we now reached the conclusion that Kenneth Shane Pickett is bad? I am not there, personally.

I've watched Kenneth Shane Pickett for 15 games and I am still unsure if he is good or not. That leads me to believe that he is in fact, not good.

I mean, how many games does he get? I know our line is bad, but I think that was his 14th career start and he threw for 8 yards, after going off for 130 last week. He might not be terrible, but he surely isn't winning any games for the Panthers. If he loses the job to Davis or Patti next year I won't be very sad.

Clemson's secondary is bad. Well, not as good as the rest of the defense. Pickett should've tested them more, but I don't think his line gave him enough time to do so.

My jury is still out on KSP because for some reason the other teams are allowed to line defensive players up in the offensive backfield and pressure him within 0.5 seconds of the snap.

He is worse than Tino Sunseri. The man has one game this year (which I was physically present for, so I get credit) over 200 yards passing in an era where everyone throws for 250+ every game.

I'd love for KSP to be good. It just ain't looking that way.

much like tino, pickett (I did not stutter) has the luxury of no real competition on the roster, so it doesn't really matter if he good, because he is going to get the reps regardless.

If Nick Patti or Davis Beville don't end up being better than KSP, god help the eternal fate of the Pitt Clique. Pickett spends most drop backs running for his life, which is not going to improve next year, but even when he was some time he is woefully inaccurate, a shortcoming that becomes even worse when he's on the move, which is extra bad because he spends most drop backs running for his life. It's a circular dilemma of compounding doom.

Who knows how much difference it would have made, but I really wish they didn't burn his redshirt last season. It led to nothing of value and cost him an extra year of development.

On top of that it gave us a lot of hope after watching the Miami game, which as we all know is never a good thing.

I'm an outsider's perspective, but I was appalled watching Pitt's passing attack this weekend. I know the line isn't great, but I'm just not sure why it wouldn't be worth giving JG Jr. a chance. Is he at least more mobile?

I am not too worried about the redshirt. He got meaningful action and threw like 75 passes if I recall correctly. It would have been nice to have had another game or two under his belt (and especially a bowl game, if Jester Weah, track star, doesn't get caught from behind against VaTech). Consider that if they don't burn it, we have the Nooch here, and if I am sure about anything, its that the Nooch is not a D-1 QB. Kenny may not be the answer, either, but the pass blocking was so bad and created the Circular Dilemma of Compounding Doom™ that DD referenced that I think I land on the jury still being out. I do think his arm is strong enough. He has very bad touch on deep passes, however. That RAL miss against Clemson when he was wide open for six was a killer early in the game. He missed at least 4-5 TDs this year on overthrows like that that were WRs clean open. Has to improve there.

PIckett is a good runner. I highly doubt JGJ is mobile.

I think the Circular Dilemma of Compounding Doom is being further compounded by Watson being bad at all aspects of his job.
