imo at this point the "wr creating separation" concept is not a thing. mack ffrench and rara all have been able to get open. to a lesser extent shocky and Mathews have gotten open. its not a wr problem.
I threw out the separation thing because it seemed to be more of an issue early in the season. I admittedly haven't watched this as closely.

If the issue is more related to Pickett's accuracy, footwork, etc. those are fortunately correctable to a point. I'm still not a huge fan of the way Watson designs the route packages. I think too much goes to the sidelines and not enough of an attempt is made to work underneath. Again, though, maybe that's because they don't trust Pickett's accuracy on those kind of throws.

It does seem like both PSU and Pitt are trending upwards in terms of hoops. Would be awesome for the state to have hoops teams to cheer for again, because I'm sure as hell not jumping on the Nova bandwagon down here.

Really stinks they lost, but that team is a million times better than it was last year...night/day is not big enough of a separation.

While I’m an optimist when it comes to PSU football, basketball, not so much. Last night’s W was nice, but the losses to DePaul, Bradley, bleh.

Conference slate will he tough, lots of ranked teams in the B1G. Chambers has been here how long? And he can win the NIT, great. But when is the next step going to be taken?

I hope I’m wrong in my pessimism.

Yah, it is worrisome that we drop so many games to teams that we should be able to handle.

Line for Saturday has grown from +24 to +27.5.

I'd still take Clemson.

You figure a 42-14 game would put it at 28. So anything over 28 id lean towards pitt

I just don't see clemson running up the score in this one. if they take a 4 TD lead, all of the important players will ride the pine.

42-14 sounds about right to me. It'll be 28-0 before half and their starters won't come out for the second half, allowing Pitt to actually move the ball a bit.

I don't see Pitt being able to put up 48, Dickie, maybe 35-14

Van Lynn is way, way too skinny to play OL at this point.
Jim Hammett of PL says this evening:
van Lynn is probably going to be a starting tackle next season.

I had forgotten Barry Alvarez wanted to be Pitt's head coach when they hired Hackett...
