Hope everyone pays attention to the injury report before finalizing brackets. A potentially big one hit the wire last nite.

I just randomly picked teams since I didn't follow college bball at all this year with Pitt sucking. Probably have a better shot at winning that way.

I joined.
I watched 5 minutes of NCAA basketball all year.
So I should probably win.

@Kraftster oh man I don't think I ever realized yours was an auction.. ours is just a straight draft. curious how much Trae Young went for in yours? And Bagley, assuming he was the highest.
I executed pretty well on my strategy, which is based around needing the fewest # of games to get to my goal. Picking outcomes seems much more difficult than leaning on dependable scorers. So, I use a formula to generate and aggregate z scores for ppg, shot attempts/game, and pct of team shots. Obviously, I desperately need Syracuse to win now that UCLA lost...

I am two-time defending champ, so I threw out first. I tossed Trae out at $5. I would have been forced to take him at that price, but I had the plan of not going any higher. I wanted to get it out of the way early to know whether he was going to be on my team. One guy ended up bidding $6, and no one went any higher. To be honest, I really don't want him. They haven't won a road game in 2018. He is a gem under my profile, but I just don't think you can rely upon that team.

Bagley went for $14, which you can discount $2 because the guy that got him is crazy. Also, he doesn't like $13, so he went from $11 to bidding $14.
Interesting.. I tried to get cute with it and add some different things in there like you did, I had usage in there last year. Really at the end of the day points are all that matters so I just went with points and i factor in an average of least games a team can play, the most they could realistically play, and what I expect by filling out a bracket. So a lot of it is based on projecting how many games they play.
So, I use a formula to generate and aggregate z scores
@slappybrown TRIGGERED
Z-scoring things is very good and it is not surprising that a good poster and basketball knower like krafty would be utilizing z-scoring

You very well could. My brother has finished Win-2nd the last 2 years in my work's pool and he boasted that he did it without watching a single game all year...which naturally sent me into   But he has a system for the first round that works pretty well. Not sure how he has been able to make subsequent rounds work in his favor but often times, it's the person that doesn't know much who ends up winning.

I won one of these without having ever watched a complete game in my life. It was the trilby tournament.

Had UVA losing to Arizona so last night actually hurt me more than tonight. This whole thing really benefits Kentucky... or it should anyway.

With picks of Marshall, Butler and Alabama my East bracket is still intact.

I'm not totally sure that Kentucky can get by Buffalo. Something to said about a bunch of seniors against a bunch of talented freshmen. Perhaps Buffalo didn't shoot their load against Arizona and still has enough in the tank for UK.

Since my only chance of winning the 5AF poll now resides with Kentucky being the National Champion - hooray cheating Calipari! :)

It is Sunday evening of the first weekend of this...there are two brackets left that even have their Final Four still intact:

EPP and nobody

Michigan puts this guy in front. Believe I am the only one with a team left on that side of the bracket.

Somehow I'm in 3rd. Villanova and Michigan make 2 for 4 in the Final Four.

You have to go auction, man. It is so much fun.
I think this thing's been going on for 35 years or so. We still fill our teams out on copied sheets from the Croatian home's first draft sheet they had, so I doubt it'll ever change lol
At 518 up by 23 on second with Brunson vs, Graham, Custer, Matthews. Looks like Nova vs KU will likely decide whether I threepeat. How about you?

Not too shabby. Let's just say 5 of my first 7 picks were bounced in the first round

I might have missed something but I believe the Duke loss yesterday sewed up my title.
