Five straight losses, and the Buccos are near the basement. Interesting that this losing streak started immediately after dodint's Pirates rant in here :pop:

They broke the streak with 23 people in attendance last night.

Elias Diaz having a breakout campaign is very encouraging. Life after Cervelli needs to be ironed out behind the plate, and Diaz, at worst, looks like an above average backup.

If Cervelli continues raking, he could bring in a solid return at the deadline.

Diaz right now is definitely a better option than Stewart.

I think they could do worse than a Diaz/Stallings combo. But it would have to be some kind of time share, i'm not sure Diaz is an everyday kind of guy yet.

I'd like to see Osuna stay up to see some time at 1st and I want Hurdle to move off of penciling in Bell and Polanco in the 2 & 4 spots. I think Polanco would do better if he were moved down to 6 or so in the lineup.

Stallings is a pretty legit defensive catcher. He threw someone out at 3B last night.

Yeah, Biertempfel is saying Kang is "rejoining the Pirates." But where exactly? It could be a while before he's in game shape, and we have too many 3B anyway now.

I'm expecting absolutely zero from him. If he goes south for extended ST and hits at Indy.. he can be Sean Rods replacement. He could get some time at ss and 2b and maybe a game a week vs lefties at 3rd? Idk but we'll see
