What the hell is a Kannapolis.
well if you go to google maps and search Kannapolis, the picture that pops up when google takes you to it is a picture of a excessively large mcmansion. so to answer your question, it is the type of place that the loney would embrace.

That is quite the odd geographic affiliation. The Mariners previous Low-A affiliate was the Clinton LumberKings, based in Clinton, Iowa. The LumberKings will now be the Low-A affiliate of the Marlins, which I guess opens up the Greensboro Grasshoppers for the Pirates?
Interesting. My grandfather grew up in Clinton. For as long as I can remember, they were a Cubs affiliate, which makes sense. Don't know if the stadium has changed, but that was my first experience at a minor league ball game.

Looks like the Iowa Cubs (Des Moines) have been the Cubs' AAA affiliate since 1981, but the ole LumberKings haven't been affiliated with the Cubs since 49.
The team has had several different major league affiliations: the Brooklyn Dodgers (1937–38), New York Giants (1939–41), Chicago Cubs (1947–49), Pirates (1954–58 and 1966–68), White Sox (1959–65), Pilots/Brewers (1969–70), Tigers (1971–75), Tigers/White Sox co-op (1976), Dodgers (1977–79), Giants (1980–94), Padres (1995–98), Reds (1999–2000), Expos (2001–02), and Rangers (2003–08), and Mariners (2009–18). In September 2018, they entered into a two-year player development contract with the Miami Marlins.

This requires further research. I distinctly remember a single A team in Clinton as an affiliate of the Cubs.

*performs research*

Damn, I was wrong. It must have been the Clinton Giants, an affiliate of San Francisco. I must have been confused by the droves of Cubs fans in the area.

It was Iowa. What do you expect? Also, Field of Dreams hadn't come out yet so they had no ball parks in their corn fields to have a catch with their daddy.

Lol the Bucs set off a full fireworks show at 1230 in the morning for approximately 400 fans still in the ballpark.

Williams is probably a hall of famer at this point.

Musgrove done for the year after having abdominal surgery on an injury that’s been bugging him since BEFORE THE ALL STAR BREAK.

Nice work on that one guys.

GMNH said one more win a month and they'd be contending for playoffs. Thank god they gave players rest if they were truly serious about all of this.

Bold statement. In the past two weeks this team has allowed a bunt double and allowed three runs to score on a wild pitch.

The starters have been humming along recently, but the lineup is a joke, so this statement is a joke,

The three run wild pitch is the perfect end to this season. What a majestic accomplishment.

From Perrotto:
The fans spoke in 2018. #Pirates averaged just 17,786 a game at PNC Park. Bobbleheads and fireworks are nice. Winning is even nicer. #MLB
#Pirates' total attendance of 1,465,316 was their lowest since 1996.
Expect the payroll to be as close to zero as possible next season.

So when is GMNH going to sign that 6 WAR player to put them over the hump?

Thought so

When I was at the game on Saturday, I commented to my buddy that the discouraging thing is that none of the young position players have really given fans anything to get excited about. Kramer, newman, and luplow have all hit like trash. its a small sample size, but it would be more encouraging if these dudes were hitting.
