What a dolt.

It was more a failed attempt to do a backflip than a slide.

I can't stop watching it. It's the worst slide I've ever seen.

That video is aggravating. What an avoidable, idiotic injury.

Polanco is certainly not a good baserunner, but when you're third base coach is waving you home, you go. If it was Mercer getting thrown out everyone would be moaning about Cora
is it me or is polanco just outright slow. he runs like a robot built with mismatched parts, its all segments of his body moving in an uncoordinated fashion
Newborn giraffe.
Good posts by us in April imo

Cervelli went out to the mound to visit Archer. Quick, animated hand gestures. But after an out, Shaw homers and it's 3-0.

Have a feeling Archer's going to get the Kris Letang treatment from the media where they just keep saying he's going to turn it around and have a big week/month/year, and keep saying it over and over and over waiting for it to happen.

Just wait till y'all see Arcia's bunt double. It's something I've wanted to try in softball but never really thought you could pull it off in the majors with 90 feet bases. It hurt

Back to five hundo.
Williams (13-9) was four-seam heavy, throwing it 53 times out of his 97 pitches. While he only got two whiffs with the pitch, the Brewers went 0-10 with two walks and a sacrifice bunt in plate appearances that ended with a four-seamer.

He ended the day allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven. It is the third time out of his last four starts where he struck out at least a half dozen batters.

It’s the ninth time this season Williams has had a shoutout start of at least six IP- the most in baseball.
Please just let Williams actually be good and I promise to have a shred of optimism for next season.

Nova is actually looking like a guy they should keep around next year.

This is something I've been thinking about. We damn near relied on him to be our ace going into the last year or two. He will be just fine as the 4th or 5th guy in the rotation. Taillon-Williams-Musgrove-Archer-Nova with Kuhl and Keller hopefully on the doorstep ain't half bad. Spend some money (ha) on an OF to fill in for Polanco and give us a legit bench bat when he's back and sign some infield help, this team would be pretty decent

I actually think with Nova looking like a keeper, they could maybe try to move one of Williams or Musgrove in the offseason for an upgrade elsewhere. Keller should be a rotation mainstay by the middle of next year, so opening the 5th spot to start the year to Brubaker, Kingham or Holmes would be doable, and worst case scenario, they go in to 2020 with a rotation or Taillon, Archer, Keller and one of Williams/Musgrove and have to find the #5 guy. And when you're playing 7 inning games with a strong back end of the bullpen, you can get by with a weaker bottom of the rotation. Plus with Taillon, Williams and Musgrove all entering arbitration after next year, they might want to sell high on one of those guys this offseason.

With Polanco going down, they will need another OF'er. They already have to upgrade the IF, they are going to have to do something because doing nothing is rubber stamping a low ceiling team for next year.

I don't like trading a starter right now because I'm not ready to say anyone besides Taillon is a sure thing to be pretty good. So if you trade Williams and Musgrove busts, you're looking at a very thin rotation all of a sudden.

I'll be stunned if Keller sees Pittsburgh before September 2019.
