Looks like Frazier has won the starting job at 2B.

I think that Osuna has apparently made enough progress at 3B so it looks like he could platoon with Moran, or even maybe win the job at some point, until hopefully Hayes is ready/past super-2 status/

SS, god only knows.

1B, praying for Josh Bell to bounce-back.

Williams remains awesome. Every minor league team other than Altoona finished out of the playoffs.
The Pirates have promoted second baseman Kevin Kramer along with five other players: catcher Ryan Lavarnway, outfielder Jordan Luplow, and right-handers Tanner Anderson, Michael Feliz and Clay Holmes. Kramer and Lavarnway both had to be added to the 40-man roster. To create the needed space, the team designated left-handed reliever Buddy Boshers for assignment.
Max Moroff just got a big **** you from the front office. Reyes starting at 3B tonight, Osuna at 1B. Getting to see Kramer and hoping he sucks significantly less than Newman is the one interest I have left in the season.

I get rehab assignments but it's kind of crappy that Altoona goes up against a MVP from a couple seasons ago.

Would be nice for them to get to 81 or 82 wins this year.

But some rando thoughts.

Brault has been very effective upon his return to the majors as a multi-inning reliever. Looks like he could be a decent mop up guy and occupy one of the bottom BP spots.

It will be interesting to see how Kuhl fits back in, I wonder if him and Kingham are players they could dangle in the offseason for a position player, because...

Heading in to 2019, the roster would be projected to have all of these players: Frazier, Moran, Osuna, Luplow, Newman & Kramer. It's just not feasible to go into 2019 expecting that group be responsible for 3B, 2B, SS and 3 bench spots.

Went to the game tonight. Marlins management truly doesn’t GAF about that on field product.

Also this an existential thought about the state of Major League Baseball when the pathetic marlins are trotting out a guy that throws 100 mph in the 7th inning...and i had no idea who the hell the guy was. At what point did it become basically normal to have a guy on every roster, even trash rosters like the marlins, to just have a guy that throws extreme heat?

Don’t care much about the off field situation either. Became quite the toxic situation. My buddy ended up quitting to take an accounting job elsewhere. Anything resembling a perk of the job was taken away while the front office became overpopulated with multiple $250K+ executives in positions that no other MLB team has to compensate for Jeter barely having a high school education.

I went to the Red Sox, Astros game last night at Fenway

Very different experience I imagine. There were a ton of Houston fans, and if you think wooing is annoying, these people do a higher pitched woo combined with a meow. It was the most obnoxious thing in the world.

I came away a little unimpressed with both squads. The Red Sox have no bullpen and their lineup is a black hole after the 4 spot, and even Xander looks lost in a lot of abs. Altuve, springer and correa all seem to have no power this year, bregman is carrying that lineup.

Cole was really close to getting shelled early, but at one point in a long battle with Martinez, he blew a 100 mph fastball by him to end a threat.

Yeah I wish the Pirates were “unimpressive” enough to be 52 or 35 games over .500

Bregman and betts are mvp caliber guys, the plug a lot of holes. See mccutchen-pirates.

The baffling part of all this is dodint trying to come in the thread to talk baseball again.
