Musgrove pitched well. 7 innings, 7Ks, 5 hits, 67 pitches. Even had a single to start an inning. He was lifted for a pinch hitter for some reason. 🙄
Less than 10 pitches an inning is crazy.

Another good game for Meadows. First triple, another SB. Couple of runs scored.

They pinch hit for Musgrove becuase it was first and 3rd with nobody out in the 7th inning of an important game. The assumption was that professional hitteradam Frazier, who at this point may not be all that professional, could get a base hit or at least a ball in the air deep enough for pretty fast meadows to score. Of course Frazier popped out, but that doesn’t mean it was the wrong move.

That being said Musgrove pitched a gr8 game. The cards had three guys in the outfield that had played a lot of center field in their careers, and each one of them had at least one really embarrassing play in the field. I’m surprised matheny didn’t just jump off the Clemente bridge after that game after seeing that crappy play in the outfield PLUS joe Musgrove had a 4 pitch inning.

Concur on the bad outfield play. Meadows' triple was... Special.

If Meadows isn’t in the lineup tomorrow I will personally fire Hurdle.

Jaime Dixon reference on this Indianapolis Indians/Charlotte Knights ball game I'm watching. The color commentator went to high school with him.

Meadows in LF for Dickerson. Polanco still in the lineup. Hurdle is a menace.

Felipe Lannister looks like he will need a visit from the maester to get his left forearm discomfort taken care of. From his body language yesterday, it looks more like an elbow problem.

The good news for today is that the Cubs played a late night game, and are starting a reliever today.

Nova to DL. Kingham presumably coming up though I've been on the golf course so it's possible it was already announced

Anthony Rizzo is total garbage, as is Joe Maddon.

Chicago Cubs are less than human.

I pretty much never want to hear about players getting upset about other players breaking the unwritten rules of baseball if they're not going to police the game on a now illegal slide.

Next guy up or Rizzo should have been hit today. Not because it wasn't clean or it was a hard play, it's principle.

Someone should have taken a fastball to the teeth. Rizzo and Maddon deserve a violent end to their existence.

Pirates had a post-game meeting. Freese needed to be separated from Cora in the dugout, apparently due to anger that Rizzo wasn’t targeted during his next at bat.

They need to worry about winning games instead of hitting someone with a baseball.
