I admit this says more about where I am at as a Pirates fan, which is basically mid-2000s type feelings of hopelessness

Like when Chad Hermansen was our prospective savior?

The thing that surprised me is that they had the Bucs at 75 wins before the move.

Corey Dickerson will be the Pirates' primary left fielder, Pirates GM Neal Huntington said.

so I was perusing the roster today and well.. What's the point of Daniel Nava now? Switch hitter technically, but can't actually hit lefties.. Just seems like the roster, especially the OF, is really going to be full of lefties this year. You have Dickerson, Polanco, Frazier, Nava.

*This post was made with the realization the Pirates will be bad this year

I will talk about the pirates even if they will be bad

The pirates and every other major team always carry organizational depth. Bryce brentz is Barrett Barnes and Jerry sands and jaff (i still hate that stupid name) decker and matt Hague and Andrew lambo and so on and so forth. Nava at this point probably wont make the team and michael Saunders probably wont hang around either. It is the circle of life for a major league team.

He spent last season for the Atlantic league (i.e. independent league) Bridgeport bluefish. Nothing says “I’m at the end of the road” then playing independent ball in the armpit of the Atlantic coast

Thing is I think Nava is a very serviceable 4th OF. But his inability to hit LHP might just not be a good fit anymore with Dickerson

TIL that Jaff Decker had his own fan club in Indy and that this fan club disbanded because of "internal problems."

I mean I know the "MLB Arbitrator" is going to say everything is fine - but I hope there's a cap floor implemented in the next CBA agreement, or they figure out a way to ensure that this revenue sharing goes back into player contracts etc, that must be reported.

I predict that the grievance will be dismissed because it probably has no merit. But if somehow the grievance made the Pirates financials available that would be awesome.

pirates spend too much money on the draft, lets change the draft rules

pirates aren't spending enough money on free agents, lets change those rules too

I'll say this about nutting, if that guy had any balls, he would use the opportunity to bash the living hell out of the MLB and its shitbrained system

All-time Curve Team bobblehads - Cutch, Marte, Bell, Cole, Watson, JHay, Elias Diaz, Jack Wilson... Adam Hyzdu. Love it. Minor leagues are the best

A few years ago the Curve had a Jameson Suit and Taillon bobble head featuring JMO in a suit.

Technically, it’s the players and not league going after them. As an aside, I can’t imagine why the union would have a poor opinion of a team like the Pirates...
