Debate with my 10 year old on why it is called "skeleton"

Her theory- you go so fast your skin flies off
My theory- you run head first into the wall, you'll be one

The women of the Russian Curling team are smoke bombs.

That's all I really have to say...

It seems like curling has opposite effects on athletes. Like, with women there is a much higher density of absolute smoke shows than in other sports. While with men, it's as if some countries (ahem) recruit their teams from the local dive bar.

Is Anna Sidorova still playing?

Is Anna Sidorova still playing?

Had to look it up. She's still playing but didn't make the Olympic team. Her team was defeated by the current Olympic team after they had a mini playoff. Sidorova's team was orginally supposed to make the Olympics, but they played poorly and the new team had better performances.

Also in the article referring to the current Russian team.
In the Everest All-Star Challenge, a fan vote was put up to see who the final team would be for the women, and Moiseeva’s team somehow outdrew some of the most popular Canadian teams also running
Somehow? I'm willing to bet how that happened.

Guess what, a Russian Olympian tested positive, the curler Alexander Krushelnitskiy. WTF would you need PEDs in Curling?

Bad look for OAFR.

Speaking of which, apparently Kovalchuk made some comment about Oshie’s heroics last olympics being overblown after the Olympic Athletes from Russia beat the US. Like congrats dude, your time to shine now that there’s no NHL players. Stick with your 2nd tier Kontinental Hockey League.

Congrats on beating a team whose most experienced defenseman was playing in a second-tier German league this season and its most experienced forward is 39 year old Brian Gionta.

Just watched the photo finish of the biathlon. It's become infinitely more exciting now that I understand what happens when you miss a shot.

US-Finland women's game up next. Can I get an isocam on Kessel, please?
