Touche. I'll admit I wasn't keen on that one. I went for A7X and Roach went on first. It was actually my first ever concert.

Please post a photo of which one!

I really hope it is this guy:

Image
Haha, no not him. He's with a group of four or five people, and the interviewer guy asks where they're from and he says, "Reston, Virginia".

He's the tall redheaded guy in the back left.

There are probably three or four people in that film that live in the LA area, and when they have screenings they're invited out to do Q & As and stuff. It's kinda funny.

Another kinda silly trivia thing about that guy: In the earliest days of Street View, he was photographed by the Google car at the box office at the Greek Theater in LA. So that's fun.

I went to the 2000 Warped tour, Papa Roach was there. I think people threw stuff at them on stage.

Radiohead
Blur
Sigur Ros
Franz Ferdinand
The Walkmen
Interpol
Clinic
Arcade Fire
Muse
The Shins
The National
Weezer
The Rapture
Travis
Supergrass
Super Furry Animals
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Beastie Boys
Wolf Parade
Frog Eyes
Sunset Rubdown
The Killers

...didn't count festivals or bands I only saw because I went with friends. Most of these are multiples too. Saw Radiohead 4 or 5 times. Same with interpol and franz Ferdinand. Sigur Ros I might be at 6.

I pretty much checked off all the ones I really wanted to see. Sad I was late to the party with Pulp, Suede and the Stone Roses and somehow I never saw the Strokes. But I'm content with my resume.

It's entirely possible I'm married to shmenguin.

No Regina Spektor, though. Hmmm.

I wonder if Bowie ever came to Pittsburgh.
In the 70s.
He also came to Star Lake in 95 with Nine Inch Nails. Bought tickets to this show and planned on going with a girl that I was kinda dating on and off. I had planned on taking leave and coming back home for a week since her birthday and the show were within a week of each other. A week or so later, our ship announced we were going on a six month cruise from June to December. The show was in September. Guess who wasn't going to the show?

I ended up mailing her the tickets and said to pay me back later since it wasn't like I could sell to anybody 9 hrs away where I was stationed. 22 years later, I haven't seen a dime from those tickets.

I'm guessing you've probably seen this already, but since it seems relevant to the discussion.

"Zebraman" didn't seem too thrilled that they found him.

Edit: thet found DC101 guy and "Graham, like gram of dope"

Anyone ever see daft punk live? They are French and therefore European, and they fancy themselves as too artisy fartsy to actual tour. But i’d love them live

My dad has a cool concert story...he was in Miami in February 1964 with a group of friends from college. One of them saw that Ed Sullivan was taping (or broadcasting) a special show from a hotel nearby. They were vaguely aware of the Beatles, but he remembers thinking they were for teenaged girls (he was 22 or so). So they managed to get in the hotel for the taping and got to see the Beatles. Live.

He didn’t think much of it until after the show, but he quickly became a fan.

He also managed to see the original Dave Brubeck Quartet in Boston in 1960-2 or so. He got to see most of the “Time Out” album live. Unreal. He and my mother saw him solo in the late 1990s up at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. That was pretty awesome as well, as it was in a small concert hall at the Inn’s conference center. Very intimate.
