Sideshow Bob (all of the times)
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (umpteen times)
Nuno Bettencourt solo bands (easily +15x, they played local LA bars/clubs all the time)
Lo Mass Republic (+10x, Mrs Tif's best friend's hubby was the bass player)
Foo Fighters (7x)
The Struts (6x) (my favorite new band)
Extreme (4x)
Steve Vai (3x)
Iron Maiden (3x)
Chevy Metal (2x)
Bon Jovi (2x)
Kiss (2x)
Poison (2x)
Lenny Kravitz (2x)
Black Crowes (2x)
Chris Isaak (2x, both at the Hollywood Bowl)
U2
Steve Miller
Godsmack
Winger (\m/)
Rufus Wainwright
Spinal Tap
Judas Priest
Anthrax
Smashing Pumpkins
Duran Duran
Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine
Metallica
No Doubt
Sheryl Crow
Stone Temple Pilots
Beastie Boys
Queensryche
Ratt
Heart (sans the blonde sister, as she was preggers)
King's X
Pearl Jam
Ben Harper

Ozomatli
Orange Crush
Fleetwood Mac
Tom Petty
Gary Clark Jr
Stabbing Westward
G3 (Satriani, Vai, Petrucci)
Muse
Weezer
Radiohead
Incubus
Earth, Wind & Fire

With the exception of The Struts, I'm not including opening acts in the reckoning unless I was a fan and would've gone to see them on their own. Same with bands I saw at festivals.
I worked in the music industry for six years, and nearly all of my friends were in bands. Going to shows 3-4 nights a weeks was pretty normal during that time. There'd usually be around three or four acts on the bill at each place. So I don't know how to even guess what that total would be. A lot.

I've never been a big concert goer, but I have seen:

- Def Leppard
- George Thorogood
- "Weird Al" Yankovic
- Chris Knight
- Ween
- B.B King
- Dream Theater
- Queensrÿche
- Multiple local Pittsburgh acts that played at the Pitt Student Union and for which I ran the sound. I don't remember all of them, but I do recall that Brownie Mary was one of those shows.

I had tickets to see Billy Joe Shaver, but the show was canceled at the last minute.

Phish 8/7/2015 Blossom Music Center
Reel Big Fish 2/8/2016 Altar Bar
The Naughties (friend's band) 3/24/2016 Smiling Moose
Phish 7/19/2017 Petersen Events Center

If we are operating by the parameters set in the Randomness Thread (shows that you've needed to buy a ticket to), that is it. I've been to 5 or 6 other shows by The Naughties (and have played with them twice) but their opening for Steve N Seagulls was the only time I needed to buy a ticket.

I got thinking about the concerts I’ve seen, and got to see a lot of big names in my teens-20s. Not so much since getting married and living in BFE.

But:
Rolling Stones/Living Colour (Three Rivers Stadium)
Pink Floyd (Division Bell tour, at Death Valley Stadium. Still have the shirt.)
Smashing Pumpkins
Foo Fighters/Red Hot Chili Peppers
Pearl Jam
Jesus Lizard
Morphine
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Cracker (numerous times, as they loved playing in Charleston)
Fishbone
Allman Brothers Band (1993-4, I think Dickie Betts was still in the band)
Lynryd Skynyrd - at the county fair, naturally
Sonny Rollins
Cassandra Wilson
Meatpuppets/Blind Melon
Vince Gill/Amy Grant - they used to tour the Southeast during November/December and give holiday themed concerts. It was fun.
Hootie and the Blowfish - I loathe this band, but it was for a charity/benefit and in a cool location (tennis stadium near Charleston).

Many, many bar bands, friends’ bands, random ska bands I don’t remember the names of.

In terms of pure rock action, Jesus Lizard (3 or 4 times) is the closest I ever got to Zeppelin.

In no particular order

Winger/either Cinderella or Poison.
Nine Inch Nails/Die Warzau
10000 Maniacs
Violent Femmes
fIREHOSE
Nirvana/Breeders (I love that this show is on youtube, is in decent quality and even captures the shitty acoustics of the W&M hall that they were playing.)
Everclear/Fishbone
Hootie and the Blowfish
Nine Inch Nails/Pop Will Eat Itself
Limp Bizkit/???? (not gonna pretend to remember who opened for them in 1996)
Blue Line Band
two different xFests, which had everything from Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Green Day to Scott Weiland
Fantomas/Tool
Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction
Foo Fighters/Mariachi el Bronx
Foo Fighters/Royal Blood
Mayhemfest, which included Slayer, Anthrax, Motorhead
Social Distortion
GWAR/Corrosion Of Conformity
Slayer/Anthrax
Slayer/Rob Zombie

Survivor and Weird Al. Same county fair in Milwaukee, but on different nights.

True @mikey SIlver Train is a favorite but my preference is for the version that Johnny Winter heard (the one with the nonsense syllable vocal tab between verses and verse and chorus).

Think GHS a poorly recorded and mastered record. Supposedly Jimmy Miller was carving swastikas on the recording console and the other Mick and Charlie were heavy into heroin and cocaine.

Exile remains, for me, their best album and my favorite rock n' roll album. It's up there with 'Dictionary Of Soul' and 'Call Me' for desert island disks. Waits here: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2005/ ... opandrock1

I've seen

Al Green -twice
Wilson Pickett twice - once in NYC
James Brown
The Stones - four times
The Who
Robert Cray @Mancinis)
Willie Dixon (@Mancini's)
The Fabulous Thunderbirds
The Nighthawks - a bunch of times
Carole King - with Leland Sklar/Waddy Wachte/Russ Kunkel and that bunch. Sat in the first row and she and they were off the graph.
BB King and Bobby Bland
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Decade)
Albert Collins (Decade)
Marty Stuart (Columbus OH, Lebanon PA, Wheeling)
Tyrone Davis
Rod Stewart twice - the last being his farewell Faces tour with Wood and the great Jesse Ed Davis on guitars
Muddy Waters
L'il Ed and the Blues Imperials
The New Barbarians (Civic Arena)
Tony Rice Unit ( a bunch of times, once at the Elizabeth Moose) Do they still do bluegrass shows?
Tim O'Brien
Ricky Skaggs- Lebanon PA and Ponderosa Park Salem OH - where Lou Reed somehow missed the cue for his banjo break on Country Boy and Skaggs looked like he was going to kill him)
Willie Nelson (Ponderosa park)
Billy Price in all his iterations going back 40 years. Helluvasinger, helluva showman.
Tower of Power (twice)
J Giels
Earl Hines -with Clairton's, Marva Josie on vocals
Oscar Peterson
The Jazz Crusaders
Stanley Clark - I remember David Gomez just killing it on guitar
Weather Report
George Benson - amazing
Ray Charles (Wolf Trap)
Al DiMeola - like a frikkn sleeping pill
Danny Gatton - 3x's (not a sleeping pill)

There's probably a few Skyblast shows I could add if I could remember who played. I'm 99% sure I saw Live, and I'm guessing there was one of .38 Special, Steve Miller, or Chicago that I probably saw a song or two before leaving.

...and is it assumed that probably everybody here has seen the Clarks at some event, with or without a ticket?
