For context, going 0 for 1 for 0 yards delivers a rating of like 39.6 or something...

Nathan Peterman's passer rating for his career is 32.5.
players with a worse passer rating then Nathan Peterman, who has the 781st best passer rating in NFL history: nobody
tied for 781st with Peterman is Jake Rudock ('17 Detroit Lions: 3-5, 24 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT)

By the look of Jake's game log, it looked like he played 9 snaps in a game where the Lions were blown out and appeared in two others without taking a snap.

That's the list.

There is no team out there that will pay him enough money to make up for the loss of $14.5 million.

But hey, he loves the game.
It’s about the Guaranteed money.

And yeah missing a year may sound bad - but for a RB, if he can work his ass off and get back into playing shape, I don’t think it’s terrible. In terms of longevity: no wear and tear 400+ carry year. He’ll be fresh next year with more mileage to go.

Only thing is if he can get back to where he was, most likely ending up on a team that won’t have the offensive line and offensive talent he had here.

Gotta love dipsticks like Peter Shrager talking about how Bell took this amazing stand that will “help future RBs”. Right. And he doesn’t give a **** about future RBs.

It has been getting tiresome seeing Deadspin and other writers constantly paint the Leveon Bell situation as some sort of social justice crusade.

I've stopped going there unless somebody links an article that isn't listed elsewhere.

I read the most recent Bell article on DS, and honestly, I didn't get that vibe at all from the article. It was actually coherent and thought out. The replies are another story.

I started reading an ESPN article on why Bell was smarter than we think. Not even through the first paragraph I see, "white-run league" and "black players being disrespected".

Guaranteed money..... he's guaranteed to be $14.5 million dollars poorer for having sat out this year. I should be so worried about guaranteed money.

The reason he wasn't offered as much guaranteed money as Todd Gurley is in part his own fault. He's been suspended twice for being a dipshit, in addition to having an injury history (which isn't necessarily his fault).

I sat for a moment to think about what I would endure for a cool $14.5 million in return and immediately decided not to disclose my thoughts to anyone else.

Deadspin has been trash lately, but Cosentino's article yesterday was the first that I've seen anywhere to acknowledge that yes, the Steelers don't give contract guarantees to anyone but QB's after the first year, AB only got $19MM guaranteed, but they structure the contract in a way that makes it extremely cost prohibitive to themselves if they cut the star player early in the deal. Yes, Bell was only offered a $10MM signing bonus, but the contract was structured to pay him $33MM in the first two years and $45MM in the first three years. He wouldn't have been cut in the first three seasons because it would have killed their cap and that's a **** ton of money for a RB. Gurely's deal had $21.95MM guaranteed at signing and $45MM total guaranteed, but only pays him $40MM in the first three seasons. Anyone trying to make Bell out to be a victim because of the language of guaranteed money is an idiot.
