Guy puts his entire life on social media but this time everyone's left dreaming up hypotheticals to give him a good reason for being 4 1/2 hours late to a scheduled event. No big deal tho, as Pittsburgh Dad Jr. pointed out, alot of those kids were inpatient so they had nowhere else to go all day. That's seriously one of that morons arguments.

If this was the first time AB has been hours late to a public appearance, it would be a little easier to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I agree with that. What I don't agree with is the outrage over it.

Also - and it feels a little gross to bring this up, but whatevs - it wasn't just the sick kids involved. It was people from Pizza Hut and Electronic Arts that organized the event, so he was putting off people who have paid him a goodly sum of money to be there.

There's perceived outrage because so many people seem so vehemently against the notion that F'ing over sick kids who are waiting specifically for you, for that long, is a dick move. People couldn't wait to jump up to defend this arrogant @sshole.

I don't know all the background. Being late is a dickish thing if you don't have a legitimate reason. I think the bigger dick move though is not letting them know you are going to be late. If you are going to be several hours late you should at least let the people know who are waiting you are running late etc. That is the bigger dick move in this scenario, IMO.

Is it the end of the world? No. AB seems like an all around good dude and person, but this situation sounds pretty shitty.

Seems like if there was a good reason for this his camp would have said something by now. For a media savvy guy like this to not have any counter story says that he doesn't really care. Pretty gross imo.

From everything I've heard about him, he seems to be a total jerk.

The Big Man is right here. Also - for all his haters, he has donated plenty of his money to the Mario Lemieux Foundation. Also, every thanksgiving he provides a free turkey to a single mother.

That was my reaction, as well. He’s clearly got the physical skills to succeed, but I think he just broke down mentally last season. Our scheme didn’t help, either. NO MORE **** ZONE COVERAGE.

I have this weird feeling, that if the Steelers don't win this year, AB is going to want out or re-structure his deal with Lev leaving citing he's the biggest threat the team has and forcing his hand at a trade or something, etc. Just feels more and more that he's getting aggressive with media - and it's not the first time.

Watch Ben start complaining and being a nuisance now that people are saying nice things about Mason Rudolph.

Twitter is the root of all evil, it seems. I doubt AB's going anywhere.

Nice to see Pittsburgh Dad Jr. draws the line at calling Ed Bouchette a clown. I guess a 100K check to a hospital doesn't cover that.

The Steelers aren’t “unlikable” or whatever. The Steelers simply act like just about any other football team. And old-timers clutching their Lambert jerseys are having a hard time dealing with it.
So what if every other team or player in the NFL for the most-part is unlikeable. This has nothing to do with old teams, NFL players for the majority appear to be **** heads.

Yeah...it's really hard for me to get excited about Steelers football. Of course I will follow the games and probably watch a bit, but I remember planning everything around NFL Sunday and the Steelers schedule. If it wasn't for fantasy football I think I'd be permanently untethered.

Also, Ben engaging Drama Been in August might be a good thing

I thought I read earlier that somebidy stepped on his foot, causing him to fall. Either way, it’s still early August. If this keeps him out of meaningless games, okay.

Sounded like he tripped over Gilbert and fell and hit his head. Definitely sounds like Drama Ben.
