Boswell is the perfect kicker for this team right now.

In the sense that this season is a sht show.

Meh, kickers are like goalies, they're weird. I think having Suisham around might be helpful. He understands what it's like.

Tomlin's play calling of late is always in doubt.

This problem can be solved another way - just **** go for it instead of bringing out the kicker. We probably have a higher chance of converting by doing so.

The issue with this line of thinking is that there is this option of a 3 point "field goal" that a kicker can be used for as well, along with the XP. I've seen it on the highlights

I think he is proposing doing so on 4th down, which is actually fine by me. Someone will do this eventually, and if Tomlin does it, it will be worth it to see shad's head explode despite the probabilities dictating that teams should be going for it on 4th orders of magnitude more often.

The issue of course, is at the end of the half/game, or in 4th and 15+ scenarios.

I would love to play the numbers and go for it more often on unorthodox situations. But you still need a kicker lol

I’m on board with having no kicker on the roster.

Steelers have opted to stick with Boswell. And have brought in Shaun Suisham to be his mentor.

https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2018/12 ... s-boswell/

I actually think this is a good idea. What took so long to think of it?
Tomlin is coaching the team.
This is a stupid idea imo, and they should have made a change. The guy has missed 11 kicks this year between FGs and XPs. Enough is enough.
Agreed. Rich football team won't cut a player because of dead money.

Just don’t throw a flat out pattern to the tight end...

I just hope our season doesn’t come down to a kick. I don’t think I could handle even watching that.

Yeah, if the season comes down to *a* kick in week 16-17 it will only be because of myriad missed opportunities between wks 1-15.

Take your pick, but I'm going with the banana peel being the nail in the coffin.

I'll be shocked if this team is within double digits of NE or NO and there is no guarantee they wont find a way to lose to the bungles. Even if they win, it may not be enough... and really, it doesnt even matter at this point because they aren't winning anything.

I have to try and keep the faith. This team has shown glimpses of greatness this season.

But Thursday, the team unveiled a change that should be recognizable to many. As Artie Burns confirmed, he got some reps with the first-team defense as the Steelers prepared for the Patriots Sunday at Heinz Field.

Between this and bringing in another coach to consult with the defense. This is all desperation, and it isn't a good look for anyone.
