Getting out of the divisional round thread.

Mike Tomlin told defensive coaches their jobs are safe.

Don't know that I would have brought back Joey Porter.

What an assclown.

I think that solidifies me as to why Tomlin isn't an all-time great coach. He doesn't recognize when he needs to change. What has Keith Butler done to deserve to stay being the DC? He inherited the job based on longevity.

Is that really Tomlin's call?

Hope not. I'm down to watching only Steeler games now, and I'm not sure I can really take watching the same defense get exploited in the same way for another decade.

Isn't everything they do ''by committee"?

That’s true if all sports leadership teams. Aside from Jrrry Jones?

Bright side: he apparently didn't say the same to the offensive staff.

When I cared, I remember them saying that all the time. "Every decision is made as a group", or something like that.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 5m
Sources: The #Steelers are allowing OC Todd Haley to walk now that he’s out of his contract. Pittsburgh expected to have a new OC.
Thank god.

I guess they need to hire someone, who is better at handling the king diva.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet -29s
#Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger has had incredible success with OC Todd Haley. But that relationship was not sustainable. Haley is out.

Not kidding when I say just promote Randy Fichtner and then get a proper OC when Ben moves on. Ben likes him and the offense will be turnkey for the next two years with the talent they have.

I think you could go with Madden's Selection with this offense and still dominate.

That further reinforces the inmates run the asylum factor?

This would be my move as well.
Munchak?
I don't like non-skill position guys as offensive coordinators.

I don't think there's any doubt that this is solely Roethlisberger's team and the organization is just trying to do everything they can to squeeze out one more SB appearance.

"It's been a while since we've run the quarterback sneak," Roethlisberger said in the postgame news conference. "I'm for it, but it's kinda over my head why we don't do it. I'm not going to second guess why we don't run the quarterback sneak. I don't know."

thsi is a horsesht copout. he can change any play he wants to whatever he wants whenever he wants, as we saw when he changed the whatever the second 4th and 1 call they failed on to a 20 yard in route that fell incomplete.
