Saw that former pr guy that AB responded to tweeted the ol "RIP my mentions" thing, and going thru those replies, wow, he is public enemy #1. Some people do not like their Stillers getting criticized.

NFL related. Thoughts on this? I believe they should get the insurance IMO, but a salary on top, I know they helped build the game, but unfortunately it blew up via TV, etc after their time. They should get some sort of royalty or something if their footage is shown by the NFL though IMO.

They got paid when they played. Insurance is stretching it but would be a nice gesture. They aren't entitled to anything imo

was the players union around when they played? insurance and pension i dont think is unreasonable but a salary based off league revenues seems a bit of a stretch

Sounds like a coaching issue.

I think Tomlin is a good coach but its pretty tough to defend what's going on here. Certainly seems like this team is broken internally; he may not be the primary culprit (Brown is 30 years old, and is skipping practice because some guy said something on Twitter) but he doesn't seem to be able to get things in hand at the moment. This has been 48 hours of people putting their foot in their mouth, constant references to people not knowing what to do on defense, and now your best player outright skipping practice.

Steelers still win the North imo bc why not

what is most alarming is that AB has always had one thing going for him: dude may be clownshoes, but when it comes practice and preparation, he is universally regarded at a supreme worker and consummate pro.

but if he isn't showing up work because of twitter.....woof.

i'm going to guess it has more to do with whatever little sideline spat he had than with twitter

We still don't even know if it was an excused absence, so there's still hope.

For a dude like AB who is extremely online, the "Trade me and lets find out" tweet is way bigger news than his argument with Fichtner. Its still on front page of ESPN

So you gotta suspend a guy for no showing, no?

Like. That has to happen

I suspect there is proscribed remedy for this type of thing under the CBA. I would guess a fine.

Tomlin wouldn't address if it was excused or not. Likely it wasn't excused. Tomlin still yet to curb any of this by saying he'll speak to him 1 on 1. Which based on continual questions having to be asked, he'll likely do nothing.

Does this merry-go-round ever stop?

Mike Tomlin confirms that Antonio Brown was not at work on Monday, will not get into why or whether he was excused or not.
Sounds unexcused to me.

I'd have a hard time finding five people on the team that are likeable.

I can think of maybe three.

It makes it a lot easier to be a fan of a team whenever you take a vested interest in seeing the individuals succeed. That's why it has been so easy to fall in love with the Pens over the years. Aside from a few guys like Conner, James (heh), Villenueva, etc, I just don't give a sht about this team. We are rapidly becoming a laughingstock from a drama standpoint, and it doesn't seem so long ago when we used to look at other teams and think "Gee, I'm happy we don't have to deal with that soap opera crap"
