There was an article about Bell possibly screwing himself with the games that he sat out and that his franchise tag for 2019 would only be 120% of his salary for games played and not the value of the contract itself.Yeah **** Bell. Urinating Tree talked about the Steelers possibly putting a 2 week roster exemption on Bell when he returns, which would **** over his payday once again. That would be hilarious.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ther ... 19-status/There will be an arbitration case brewing between the NFL and NFL Players Association regarding Le'Veon Bell's 2019 salary in the event the transition tag is placed on him, whether by the Steelers or any other NFL team, multiple sources said.
Bell is currently not playing for the Steelers, and has yet to sign his $14.5M franchise tag for the 2018 season, one that would pay him roughly $850,000 per week over 17 weeks. He said earlier last week that the Steelers told him they would place the transition tag on him in 2019, and while the franchise disputes the veracity of that statement, it is possible that Pittsburgh, or any team that acquires him, would want to utilize that mechanism next year.
That would allow Bell to negotiate freely with any NFL team, giving the Steelers the right to match any offer sheet. The amount of the 2019 tag would be reflected by "120 percent" of Bell's 2018 salary, per the collective bargaining agreement. However, league sources indicated that the Steelers – or any other NFL team for that matter – would determine that salary means the actual amount of money Bell earned in 2018, and not simply the amount of the franchise tag had he signed it before the season began
I hope this is the case just for the lolz.

Great stuff from Conner yesterday.
A "2-headed monster" attack with Bell/Conner sounds nice on paper, but in practice, wouldn't work. I just feel he returns and this won't end well.

Either Bell returns and performs well enough to win the job back, or he doesn't, loses most of the playing time to Conner, and pouts his way to being deactivated.
I only fear that Conner doesn't have the durability to handle being a workhorse back. Best case scenario is Bell is Bell, Conner becomes a studly change of pace back, and the Steelers choke again in the playoffs.

Bell isn't going to get the chance to win back the job.

Being able to add a player like Le'Veon Bell to your roster mid-season is a huge boost that not every team enjoys.
Adding actual Le'Veon Bell to your roster is a different kettle of fish.

Things are just starting to come together and now Bell may or may not be reporting and bringing all his baggage to the team. Just stay away

I counted 4 times he hit a Steeler in the head, won't get punishment. Yet Watt lightly grazes Ryan's leg and is out $20k.Burfict will not be suspended for hit on AB in yesterday’s game. Of course not.

isnt that a bit of a strategic mistake on bells part? he could get more money this year, and not put himself at risk? and if he gets transition tagged isnt it based on the total salary he received so he would be hurting hismelf there too?

At this point I'd prefer to just get a pick for Bell and each side just moves on.

I'm sure he has enough traces of THC floating around in his blood to kill both. Get him traded, he signs, then fails. Win-win.

there aint no way some team is going to want to give him historically unprecedented guaranteed money or half rb half wr money or whatever it is he wants

Yeah, there's no way that Bell will get as much money as the Steelers offered him this off season.
