Eh. He’s still a rostered player making close to 9MM this season.

All she did was die.

Unpopular opinion: Shazier can fade away now. Hopefully the networks drop the story when the real games start, else it becomes a MSL mom situation.
Better yet, they need to stop framing this as a comeback story and cut the BS and show that it's the game that caused him to be in the situation he's in. That and very poor fundamentals.

This is the core of my take. Millionaire ends career by breaking his neck engaging in an activity (leading with the head) that was entirely preventable, avoidable. Just not sure how the average Steeler fan is supposed to objectively view that situation and see it as an ongoing feel good story arc. It's a story of missed opportunity and a wasted asset. I don't think he should be ridiculed, per se. But the fawning is a bit odd.

I fully support the guy trying to learn how to walk again after hurting himself in the way he did. The only feel good to me, is that he's able to have a sense of normalcy and isn't wheelchair bound. It has nothing to do with the NFL, or anything like they're trying to spin. It's obnoxious.

By all accounts a great guy. I hope nothing but success for him. Just with the NFL would stop blowing the feelgood story horn, when it's anything but.

Ugh, come on man:
Eli Rogers of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been suspended without pay for the first game of the 2018 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
Rogers will be eligible to return to the Steelers’ active roster on Monday, September 10 following the team’s September 9 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Rogers sucks ass and was hopefully not making the team anyways. He’s still in the PUP List as it is.

Ben Roethlisberger says the Steelers plan to run no-huddle more than ever
It’s no surprise Ben Roethlisberger loves to run the no-huddle offense, and he long has lobbied his coordinators to do so more often, with mixed replies from them. He says the plan under Fichtner will be to take the wraps off. That will put more of the play-calling in the quarterback’s hands.

“For sure,” Rothlisberger said Wednesday, “which makes me study more, meet with Randy more, doing all that stuff, even more than in the past, which is fine. I always did a lot of stuff, but if they’re going to put that trust in me, then I have to then reward them with the knowledge that I’m going to do the right thing, call the right plays.”

Steelers quarterbacks took snaps from the shotgun formation 71 percent of all their plays last season, according to Sharp Football Stats. Detroit led the league at 76 percent. Only three others did it more than the Steelers at 72 percent, including the Super Bowl champion Eagles.
I fully support this.

Going to need to put up 30+ a game with that defense.

Faster offense just means the defense is on the field more.

Makes me think how 30+ a game was all the talk before last season, took them until November to do it and Kaboly says "Steelers haven't scored 30 points in a game. Well I guess there goes that narrative." It's not a narrative if it took 11 weeks to do it you illiterate oaf.

They already go for two most of the time. Maybe just kick onside kicks every time? Even if the other team drives and scores, their defense will be more tired because the drives will be shorter.

I think he's a top 2 or 3 kicker in the League today.

Great signing...I'm not so sure about top 2 or 3 but he is definitely in the upper tier, especially with his longer-range reliability (9/9 from 40+, 4/4 from 50+ in 2017)

It's interesting..... if you look at the top offenses from 2017, the only teams that rank ahead of PIT in PPG who have kickers I'd be okay swapping in for Boz are the Rams and Pats. Then maybe Tucker from BAL? There isn't anyone else I can think of that I'd be okay with heading into 2018.

Tucker's probably the most clutch in the league, even if he is a shitbird. I have no issue slotting Boswell behind him and Gostkowski.
