imo Bedford springs is 1 of the 2 best courses in the general Pittsburgh area; the second best is wanango in oil city imo. if wanango was in good shape, it would be #1

I love that Bedford springs alternates between aggressive holes and holes you have to be defensive. and there are some holes that make you think you need to be defensive but you can be aggressive.

I think it is called the Bear Rocks Trail. It will give you the best starting point to link up with other trails, imo.

also the uphill par 3 VOLCANO (hole 4?) has a very stupid green.

I'd like to think if played some pretty decent courses and would like to put Avalon at Buhl, formerly Sharon Country Club up there with the best of them. It gets the least love of the three Avalon courses as it doesn't have the picturesque water features of the other two courses, but it is always in immaculate shape. Hard as sht too. LITT and KTK have a standing invite as my guest when I re-join this spring.

For the price of membership it's a great deal. Unfortunately I didn't have enough friends that were members to play with there until the little bro started working and making some money, so I'll be playing it a lot again. I enjoy it

Just let the dogs out. Heard a doe bleating hard in the woods. And a buck grunting while likely tending to her.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

We had monday off in observance of veteran’s day, so i took my dog to forbest state forest up by wolf rocks. Spent about 4 and a half hours hiking. I liked it and the dog liked it, but my shins and knees hurt like hell.

I hit a nice 8 on Thursday. Found blood, my arrow (broken in half). Likely a low brisket shot. Tracked him for 4 hours with 3 other guys and came up empty. Such a crappy feeling.

We were able to stay at the nicer, handicapped accessible unit a couple springs ago. Wonderful. I'm not much of a fisherman, but to be able to walk out the cabin door and throw a line in the creek was amazing.

I'm sure it did. Any hunter worth his salt has a similar story too. Believe it or not, we're not all savages.

the dolly sods trip is coming up this weekend. any suggestions on which trailhead works best?
How was your trip this past summer, Mr. Roo? A group of friends are thinking of a winter trip in January/February next year, and WV is our most likely destination due to its centrality to the group.

if it helps, I booked a room at canaan village inn. it was very affordable but I would expect prices to be high in January or February due to ski season
