I was originally looking at a Ryder 7 3800X, but figured it was worth spending the extra cash on the 5900X given that it’s back down to MSRP. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this along with the M.2 SSD performs. Speaking of, I was shocked to see that WD now holds the top spot in that category. Thought it was all Samsung (not that you can go wrong with either). No more spinning drives for me.
Gonna use my current box as a media server, at least temporarily, just to see how it performs.

The ryzen 5 5600 I got has been doing a pretty solid job for the gaming I've been doing.

I’m just looking forward to being able to call dodint a dodint in 24 threads at 4.8GHz.

I was excited about building this until I remembered that I am going to have to reinstall all of my apps and configure all of my settings and preferences again, which will take forever.

Lately my mouse has been acting weird. While browsing the internet, when I scroll down with the wheel it initially moves the page in the wrong direction. Same thing happens when I scroll up, it does the same. Any ideas how to fix this? And yes, I have turned the computer off and rebooted.

I've never seen that behavior before, but assuming this is a desktop and an external mouse, I'd probably simply replace the mouse. If it's a laptop, go into your Settings and make sure that you haven't inverted the trackpad.

I'd maybe disable the device, reinstall the drivers, and then re-enable it...maybe...?
The touchpad on my Lenovo Thinkpad just decided to do its own thing on Saturday morning...it just kept jumping around aimlessly, generally to the top right corner of the screen and then auto-clicking at times...so it closed most of what I was working on just for the hell of it...I had a wireless mouse on hand it was even overriding that...so I eventually I figured out how to disable the touchpad, but I have no idea why it went all loco...I'll have to re-evaluate it when I'm not in the middle of a bunch of stuff...

Just checked. Nothing there.
Maybe the mouse is wearing out. It was a $10 Amazon special so...

Finally got a chance to looking at my new computer case (Fractal Meshify C), and holy hell these have come a long way. Looks like you can hide all wires behind the case to clean things up, along with installing 2.5”/3.5” drives behind the motherboard side of the panel. It’s beautiful.

Yeah, modern cases have all kinds of wire routing channels and whatnot. So clean and much easier to work in.

Got most of my parts, and started putting it together. Love and hate the build, because I had to take the water cooling radiator off multiple times to connect other stuff to the MB that it was blocking.
Can’t turn it on yet because my memory has not been delivered. It sat at the local FedEx facility all **** day, like every other god damn **** FedEx delivery does. The Bridgeport, Pa location can eat a giant bag of inflated dicks and choke on them, because they’re all **** useless.

Once I'm able to swap my GTX1650 from this machine into the new one, I'll get a better idea of how the water cooling tubes will fit. I have to use the top PCIe slot, as it's the only x16 slot, which means it will be very close to the tubing.

My water cooling has LED fans and pump, but I will be disabling it. Opted for the closed case because nobody is going to see it with where it sits.No LEDs? Lame.

Did you try to upgrade the GPU and weren’t able to get one? Or are you sticking with the 1650 for now?
Like I’ve said before, my son has been trying to upgrade his 1050ti for a couple of years now and couldn’t get a 1660 or 2060 for a reasonable price. Fortunately, the 1050ti handles most of his games fairly well… BF2042, however, will more than likely not work on it.

I did look for an RTX 3060, but everything is out of stock. If I can snag one for under $400 eventually, I will. Otherwise, I have zero issues with rolling with my 1650 since I don't use this for gaming.Source of the post Did you try to upgrade the GPU and weren’t able to get one?
