That router based on a quick google search shows it was released in like 2009. There is your bottleneck.

What they said. That router is absolutely your bottleneck. I still stand by my previous recommendation: ASUS RT-AC68U (AC1900).

You have the Simon of routers
one reports the device is working properly when it really isn't, while the other says it's one of the best routers based on fancy specs.Despres? Or Dominik?

Yes, I do. Do you mean a push notification or just acknowledgement that someone worked on something? Because if you have a shared workbook with contributions from multiple people each part added will be bracketed and initialed by the user automatically. I do not know if there is a 'track changes' function, probably not.does anyone use OneNote regularly? is there a way to receive notifications of edits with shared workbooks?

i am trying out a new method where i create a shared notebook with each of my team members. my goal is to reduce the number of unnecessary emails to allow people to add routine updates as needed for non-urgent communication. the thing i am struggling with is not knowing when an update to one of the notebooks is made. i have one note open continuously and am always working in it, but was curious if a notification is possible to know when to look at the other notebooks i am currently not inYes, I do. The Unicomp Classic buckling-spring keyboard I've been using at work for more than decade is a 101-key version that doesn't have the Windows keys. We're in the process of upgrading to Windows 10, and the Windows keys are used for the keyboard shortcut to switch between virtual desktops (I currently run Dexpot to provide virtual desktops for Windows 7). I bought another Unicomp Classic with 104 keys. Best keyboards ever.

The rebooting problems stopped for a while, but then started up again.
I have a feeling that's a heat related issue, not with the CPU but with the power supply.
After several reboots in a row, I decided to pull the side off to give the motherboard more airflow. I have one fan in the front, and one in the rear as an exhaust fan. My PC is in a FROG, which gets pretty hot once it gets above 80F outside (I do have an A/C up there, but the ambient room temperature is over 77 most of the time).
I'm looking down at the fans, and everything is spinning. CPU is around 70C, GPU peaks at 74C at full load. I'm in the middle of a round of Battlefield V - the most strenuous game I run on the PC and the only time it reboots - and I happen to shine a light on the PSU. The fan isn't spinning, and judging from the dust on the top of the fins, it hasn't spun much lately. I know that some eco models actually won't spin up the fans until a certain voltage load is hit, but with the ambient temps and running an intensive game like BFV...that fan needs to be on. It didn't budge on startup or POST either. The PSU is a six year old Rosewill 650W Bronze model, so it's probably time for an upgrade anyway.
On to an EVGA 650W G3 Gold.

Google is going to prohibit ad-blocking extensions for home users in Chrome in the very near future. I’ll be uninstalling it when that day comes.

I run a dual-browser setup on my Linux box. Chrome (with no adblockers) is used for online shopping and a handful of websites that I trust. Firefox (with NoScript) is used for everything else. That way I don't have to spend time "trusting" stuff in Firefox if I want to go buy some stuff from Amazon, and neither will I forget to leave popups or flash enabled for other sites.

uBlock Origin is arguably the best ad-blocker out there for nearly all browsers, for those of you looking for one. It's definitely the one with the least impact to performance.

Apple announced that iTunes is being retired. I don’t care too much about that, but what does worry me is that there was no mention of a sync/backup utility for iPhone users who run Windows. If I can’t backup my phone, or easily synchronize my content, that’s a problem.

They are releasing a 6K 32" screen for $5000 and a Mac Pro with a base price of $6000. That's...just absurd.

I know it's soooooooo cliche but I'll ask it: why are PC technicians typically morbidly obese neckbeards? It's such a stereotype. But, we just fully staffed our contractor PC technicians. All four of them are HUGE extra-lap-belt-on-the-plane guys. I ask because one of them took the cube next to mine and when he comes in from lunch or in the morning the guy is completely out of breath, just gasping for 3-5 minutes.
Is it something about the culture or what? Every place I've worked with PC techs it has been like this, with the exception of Wisconsin. The Wisconsin folks were people that were from the local area and took the job in 1986 and haven't left, so they grew into their role. The ham planet techs are folks that learned IT first and sought out PC tech jobs. Is it really cultural or am I just really unlucky to have seen the stereotype as the norm in my situations?
