The GPU I bought for $329 in October 2015 is currently bidding for $410 with four days left on the auction. It's madness.
...and it ended at that price with a bidder from Georgia (the country) with no feedback. I very much doubt I'll get paid for that.
He’s probably selling one himself with another account.

Bought a new mouse pad. Mouse doesn't work on it, somehow.

Alright… I have a 10 year old acer laptop on its last legs, an $80 Amazon tablet thing that is, well, it’s an $80 tablet. Looking to get myself a new tablet.

I have an iPhone and like the user interface, so I’m thinking iPad, but open to others if there’s a reason to do so. What I want to do with it: home device for checking email, surfing the net, watching videos, etc. I’ll also plan to take it on work trips. Use it for note taking and as a work device while I’m traveling so I don’t have to take my laptop with me.

Initial searching makes me think iPad Air is the right choice for me. Thoughts?

I'm not an Apple fanatic (although I am writing this post on a MacBook Air lol), but I would say the iPad is the right choice for what you need. If you have paid apps on your iPhone, most will be available without having to buy them again. Your user data will move right over to the new iPad, so logins and settings will be easier.

Yeah. Really it’s down to the iPad Air or pro vs the tab s7+.

Is it worth the money to just have my iPhone and iPad and iPods all working together vs the s7+? I think so…

Went with the iPad pro 11. I figure with the M1 chip in there, and pricing not being much different from the air, I'd go with it. I've read a ton of people that are upset that the M1 is wayyyy more powerful than the iPad OS can use, but, so what? If I get it now and they develop operating systems and software that would take advantage of it, why not get it?

Plus, the 5nm node size in the chip is awesome. Absolutely insane to think they can go that small. My company has a hand in allowing them to get down that low, so by buying it, I'm supporting my company too.

Saw that the ASUS RT-AX86U was finally in stock somewhere (B&H), so I went ahead and bought it. I still love my AC68U, but wanted to see what a next gen router can do.

I wanted to check an old IDE drive to see if there was anything worthwhile on it. I plugged it into one of those $15 adapters from Amazon and no sooner plugged it in than it started gushing smoke. Whew-ee, that wasn't fun at all.

Initial impressions of the AX86U are good. The interface is identical to previous generation routers, which is great because Asus is second to none in that area, and it isn’t even close. Speed tests all look good on my gigabit WAN, and even though it’s kinda pointless, my PC is on the 2.5GB port on the router. Wireless seems nice and strong, too. The 5GHz wifi on my Vizio TV is connected at 700MB.

Good to know, I'm still rocking an Asus RT-AC56U. I'm using Merlin firmware on it, even though it hasn't been supported for a while now. Probably should look to upgrade.

Holy hell that's an old one. Yeah, if you were looking to upgrade, either the AX68U or AX86U would be my choice now, even based on the 12 hours I've had it. Tons of people on snbforums are running them. I opted for the 86U because I wanted this to be the last router I had to buy for a very long time, even though the 68U has been on sale a bunch of times recently ($153 on Amazon right now).

@dodint: I'm trying real **** hard to move to Edge now that Twitter embeds are completely **** on 5AF in Firefox, but man do they make it difficult. Little things like not being able to pin the bookmarks on the left (only on the right), no PIP for all video, etc.

I use Edge over IE at work. But all personal browsing is Chrome. FF is dumb, tho.

Any Opera GX users? Saw LetsGameItOut mention it as a sponsor a few times and never gave it a chance.
Opera GX is a special version of the Opera browser built specifically for gamers. The browser includes unique features like CPU, RAM and Network limiters to help you get the most out of both gaming and browsing.

I've been summoned to help fix my mother-in-law's 4-year-old Dell about 90 minutes from home tomorrow. It seems to be randomly rebooting after loading into Windows. We swapped power cords and power strips (she doesn't leave the PC on, so no need for battery backup. She turns the PC off during thunderstorms religiously), to no effect.

It keeps sending her into BIOS startup settings after rebooting, which means the BIOS is probably corrupted. I'm thinking it's a bad PSU, and this is long out of warranty. Reseat the CMOS battery and see if that fixes it? Or should I go ahead and preorder a new Dell?

is it possible that the battery is bad? I've seen that happen with a few desktop here.

But with it booting into Windows makes it seems like it's two different problems. What happens if you boot it into safe mode?

We were doing most of this over the phone, so I'll be able to do more in-person tomorrow. But that's a good point about the battery. I'll bring a new CR2032 battery tomorrow, just in case.

I’d honestly be surprised if the battery was a) dead, and b) caused the reboots. Bring another laptop with you, along with a flash drive, and plan on downloading the latest bios to try and flash it again.
