We got all of our stuff fixed that the buyer requested gonna get delayed on occupancy inspection though as those are shut down till the 30th at least and our closing was supposed to be April 22nd.
Buyer could accept a temp occupancy but they'd be on the hook for any repairs when the inspection happens. So with all that said I expect we will have to do the 30 day extension of closing hoping things are opened back up towards the end of May.
Frustrating but understable.

It wasn't bad. Had a zoom call with our realtor, the closing company, and the bank. We printed out all the documents and the closing company walked us through them and told us where to sign, where to initial, and where to date. We took all the documents over to a notary quick, got them all notarized and that was that. The notary had the key and gave it to us as soon as we handed in all the documents.I can't even imagine how stressful it was to go through closing during this time.

Suppose this is the right thread... with 17 bajillion paint choices (not even talking color, just brands and whatnot), anyone have suggestions on paints? Is the one coat, no primer needed stuff legit?

I would get the paint primer combo

I used the Behr Marquee paint & primer combo and it worked out well. One coat did just fine, I was painting over a beige-ish plaster

Splurge and go with Sherwin Williams. If you apply thick enough, you can get away with one coat. They usually run 30-40% off specials, so make sure you get it then. Otherwise you’ll be set back $65 gallon

Our entire house, minus a single room, was painted with Valspar Signature and Behr Ultra and Marquee. We did two coats in every instance, and even though they all claim single coat, I’ve always found a few spots that needed to be touched up after the first. Besides, painting is the quickest part of the job. Patching, sanding and taping, on the other hand...

Just saw a ppg coup that’s 40% off. That’ll work at Home Depot.

Valspar and two coats. Even though you can get by with one. Just depends on what the color is you’re painting over.

You know. Just in case.

Well we are still set to close this coming Wednesday to sell our house. My wife and I have been moving stuff little by little to storage over the last few weeks. Tomorrow is the big stuff. Gonna be just me and her since no one else can help or is really allowed to so should be interesting. All that's left is the sectional, the big computer desk, and our big bed. Everything else is smaller stuff.
Hopefully things open back up at some point so we can look at houses and not be in my in-law's basement for too long.
I'm exhausted haha.

The former owners of our house rented it until today. They said they are moving all their remaining big stuff out today, going back this evening to clean for us (which is really nice), and then it's all our starting tomorrow. We're excited to get in there and get started.
My wife wants to get everything cleaned. I plan on measuring so we know how much paint is needed. And pretty much just starting on getting used to the house.... where are all the switches, what switches do what. Where is everything going to go, etc.

dont be like my clownboat friend who tried to figure out why there was flooding in the backyard after every rain, dug his own french drain then discovered a switch for the sump pump after 18 months in the house

Cosign. Our whole house is SW Cashmere line. Wonderful paint. Our skip trowel walls only needed one coat, but smooth plaster took 2.Splurge and go with Sherwin Williams. Also get a good primer. Good primer = less soaking in of paint = less coats. I used Loxon from SW. It is very expensive. You can find an alternative. I only used Loxon because I had fresh plaster.

Which is frustrating but what can we do?

We did the closing in separate rooms but ended up walking out with the buyer. Seemed like a nice person and happy to be buying our house lol.

The hardest part is now done, though. The relief we felt once we signed those papers... so good.

Yeah I know. The check we got handed today helped ease the pain a bit. Made the high end of what we were hoping to make for selling the house. The hardest part is now done, though. The relief we felt once we signed those papers... so good.

Well we just put in and had an offer accepted on a house that we toured via a zoom meeting. Never thought I'd say that haha.
