That's why you lock in when you find a rate you like.

I could get a new appraisal, take cash out to eliminate credit card debt, get a lower rate (not a whole lot, we streamlined last spring) BUT... I'm in the middle of trying to finish off our basement myself. So any appraisal is going to require me to finish that work first. :pop:

My house appraised while I was framing my basement. I was worried about it being an issue but the appraiser didn't bat an eye

Check out this listing along Lake Ontario about 25 minutes NE of Rochester.

Yes, I get that not everyone wants their backyard to be a miniature golf course, but $300k for the home itself is a steal.

That’s like a $450k+ home here depending on location in Pittsburgh.

It's a very nice house, but the backyard being a golf course basically makes it a non-starter and useless to me.

Couldn't you just let the grass grow over time and mow it all down at the same height? Or is it actual different grass per green/rough?

I have no idea. I just wouldn't want the headache. I want that house with the neighbors yard.. nice and flat and a blank canvas to do whatever I wanted.

All I can really think about is who's actually maintaining the landscaping. That feels like it'd be a full time job if I owned it and decided to do it myself, and then why cheap out on an above-ground pool..

They've renovated the inside but left the popcorn ceiling...big yike.

Good price. Very similar to around here...which isn't great lol.

When I was in 4th grade I mowed our yard into a golf course. I took an empty can of corn and buried it upright to use as the hole. I lost interest in exactly one mowing cycle.

At the end of the listing it says the seller will convert back to a standard back yard.

Is this in a touristy area? I feel like you could get a nice chunk as an AirBnB

That's probably worth what, maybe $4-500 a night on the weekends as an Airbnb? That'll more than cover the mortgage if you get 4 solid months of weekend rentals.

raise your hand if -when you were a kid- you used scissors on a section of grass of your parents lawn to try and make a putting green

Didn't do that but definitely used my heel to dig a hole for kicking field goals
