Do you brine your turkey?
I was considering brining the turkey this year. Lots of recipes online promise a juicier, more flavorful bird, but does it really work or am I just throwing a bunch of spices down the drain?

Brown's is the one I was looking at too. I might try it. If nothing else, the placebo effect should trick me into thinking it's better.

When we do friendsgiving we typically brine a turkey. We also cook it upside down for more succulent breast meat.

im dry brining two flattened breasts. ive heard thats best for the crispy skin. gonna try one sous vide and roast the other the way i always do.

Brining is better, and I would always brine a turkey, especially if it's going to be roasted whole (a visually appealing but non-optimal method of cooking). In that case brining will help keep the breast meat from drying out while the dark meat finishes cooking.
Depending upon the brand of turkey, however, it may not be necessary. Butterball turkeys, for example, say they've been treated with "to 4% of a solution of Water, Salt, and Spices," so they may have been functionally brined already. I don't trust such pretreated turkeys, so I don't buy that brand.
