I made the comment to my wife in the last episode that it was funny to see there was never anybody on the street in Hawkins. Only 5 or so families had any idea a smoke monster built its lair underground. Everybody else was too busy playing Commodore 64 apparently.

Similarly, the town cops disappear on a Friday night allowing a 13 year old to tear ass through town in a Camaro.

Sure, but Hopper went effectively missing since he went into the hole and no one looked for him. It's not a huge deal, just something that I noticed that aligns with robbies observation.

What about the bullies from season 1 calling him toothless? I mean their best friend outside of each other is a science teacher. What more do you want?

i think what we're saying is that season 2 had a different tenor. they are outcasts because we are told they are. in season 1, they showed it. i guess we can just assume that they're STILL outcasts and they don't need to keep reminding us...it just felt inauthentic this season compared so S01

yeah, it's loose. S01 was tight. still maybe the best show on TV, but it's gotta tread carefully. the authenticity matters.

I agree to a point. They do show some of the "zombie boy" name calling and whatnot, but yes, they don't beat it into your head like they did in season 1.

I liked that the writers acknowledged that as a possibility when Bob tried to take them to Maine. But then they killed them in a really dumb way*.

As soon as he stopped and smiled at her, I would have bet my house on him getting tackled by a demidog immediately. That was so ridiculously telegraphed. Was nice to see Paul Buchman survive the season...definitely didn't see that happening.

I was probably nitpicking, but I did keep annoying my wife with comments like "is there no one else in this town?". I get Hawkins is a somewhat small town, but it isn't *that* small. How did nobody hear those things howling at all hours of the day? From a storyline perspective, I fully understand *why* you can't have the entire town knowing about those things, but it can be very frustrating from a realism perspective.

At least they did let some outsiders in on the truth this season.

I also 100% agree on a redemption arc for Max's older brother next season. If you notice, they showed him in a sympathetic light towards the end of this season (crying after his dad yelled at him, the humorous scene with the MILF). Beating Steve's face in notwithstanding, I expect he will be a good guy next season.

I don't see a redemption arc for Billy. Steve was supposed to be the bully/human big bad, but they liked Joe Keery too much to keep him on that path so they had him do a face turn and added Billy in season 2 to fill that role. They're not going to do the same with him.

He's totally gonna nail Mike's mom though.

I thought ST was already greenlit through S4? Interesting.

It seems like Netflix takes everything on a season by season basis, even when it's obvious something will be renewed. The child actors are apparently working to renegotiate their contracts before filming season three.

I think the brothers said they would like to go four seasons "if Netflix renews the show," so this is the confirmation. They did renew House of Cards for multiple seasons a few years ago, so it's not unheard of, but rare.

The brothers said on an NPR interview they couldn't tell the story they wanted to tell in 3 seasons, and they won't need/don't want to go 6, so it'll be 4-5.
